..so, this is what i heard (from a friend who was there):
    - It was a wall-to-wall, packed house. With almost no inch spared...
    - They had to use several parking spaces from next door businesses because there were so many cars...
    - They rented this high, bleacher seatings, and put them around the playing court
    - They had catering food served (what they served, that we have to wait for the pics)

..too bad i missed it but can't wait to see the pics and videos..

I've uploaded the pictures to an album. I set it to public so you should be able to access it. Sorry for the reverse order, I arranged it ascending but it is ordering it descending :S so you'll need to go through the pictures backwards....

I'll post a summary of the event tomorrow, time for bed now.... :)

btw, did you shake LD's hand??..
In one of the pics, LD must've said to BCL : "They have badminton in the U.S.?!?!"..

couldn't take pics of the food, they were covered but it was nice decco, I forgot to take pictures of that, line was moving. Also I have to say since I was one of the later people to arrive thanks to my work, I couldn't get a good seat to take pictures from both sides. ABC management was making it hard for me since I didn't ask earlier in advance and didn't ask Chris to clear it with them :_(, no press pass no access :_(. William one of the managers later did gimme some space to take photos but oh well I made due already. My experience in this was a bit negative but I'm glad the photos came out palatable?

the event really didnt afford any good opportunity to get autographs or pictures with LD or BCL ( unless you are a volunteer or have VIP status). i even had a little laugh when i saw a guy trying to get an autograph from LD being shoved away by an organizer wearing a white polo shirt- i told my friend sitting beside me "thats what you get for wearing a yonex shirt" and we both laughed.
cant understand much from the program- it was in cantonese or mandarin. maybe because 95% of the crowd were chinese
i hope the people at menlo park get a better experience for their $20 and at least get a reasonablel opportunity to get close to their favorite players. i estimate the crowd to be about 300. maybe a little more or less.
but no doubt about it LD and BCL really enjoyed this experience as much as the crowd enjoyed it.

That's too bad the fans weren't allowed to interact with the players. A few autographs and photos with the regular Joes would have gone a long way to help the game along. It wasn't like the crowd was overwhelming so a couple of minutes of interaction wouldn't have hurt.

Nice pics Bubbles, as always. :)

I was able to get a pic of the food, but it was with my bro's camera. I will try to get the pic from him today and post it.

Yes, it is really too bad that LD and BCL didn't stick around for a bit after the matches for pictures and autographs. I forgot where, but I did read it somewhere that there was supposed to be an autograph and picture session. :S Just before the matches started, an announcement was made stating that if you bought more than $100 worth of Li-Ning products at their booth, you can have the products autographed by LD, BCL, and the coaches. The event was scheduled to end at 9pm; after closing speeches, it was not even 8:30pm yet. They even shortened four of the matches to 7 points only!! (BTW, the singles match between LD and BCL was only 15 points, rally scoring).
