Long story short, I bought this pair of SHB200EX from eBay and not too long after I opened the box, I noticed that the right and left shoes were different....

How different? Well, you'll find out through the series of pictures.

The holes on the front of the shoe is probably the easiest sign of fake shoes. Notice the stitching as well. The stitching of the genuine shoe is tighter and smaller.

The obvious performance difference is that with the genuine shoe, the bottom supporting carbon fiber laminate actually is STIFF and would provide support, on the fake shoe, it is nothing more than two layers of plastic and nylon which provide no support and is soft to the touch.

When you put the shoe to the light, you should be able to see some light through the bottom. The fake shoe will not shine through.

The insole is exactly the same with the genuine(photo 3-6). I doubt because its the front sole of the shoes are stiff.

    Thanks man

Oh my god..............that was so similar...........how could you possibly differentiate between fake and genuine........................good job that you managed to find it was a fake. I've decided to buy only from online shops and no ebay (I never did actually)............thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I have closely looked at alot of SHB200EX and a lot of them have the same hole pattern as the fake one (9th picture down, showing the air holes on the front of the shoe), even pictures from fairly legit sources and stores. Can anyone confirm this?

    Thanks

mine is exactly like the genuine pictures - doubt the genuine ones will have the hole pattern you mentioned.
