Ok, I injured myself today at practice by accidenlty doing the splits. I think I may have pulled something in my leg b/c it hurts when my knees are bent. Should I play this weekend? This weekend is just a fun tournament. I already have 2 partners and don't want to let them or myself down by not going. Then again, by going this weekend, I might further injure myself and not be able to play in a tournament in late march which will determine whether or not I get to play in 2 other tournaments. What should I do?

Only you can decide. If you wonna play, play but then there is the risk of damaging it further. But if you wonna get better, you rest. Not up to us to make up your mind for you..but think carefully.

Is it your leg or somewhere in your thigh? Like your quads? Cause if your talking about your quads, then i did the samething, it should heal in about a week or so. Just stretch every now and then. That's what i did.

You're probably right, but I just don't want to make the wrong decision, ya know? I think that I should get a good idea when I wake up tomorrow morning.

    Hi,

You have pulled one of the muscles that make up the Quads. Up to what you do, but rest is a good idea, but i'm no expert.

Sounds like u pulled a muscle. Generally, should not be very serious, 1 wk of rest should do it. However, if keeps bother u, u might need to visit ur doctor just to avoid other serious effect.

If that's not very serious, but just sore or a little bit "tight" feeling, u can use towel to keep it warm, and do a little bit marssage on it (hope I spell it right, or at least close). Also, something like "icy hot" might help too.

These recent 2, 3 days, don't put too much work on ur leg, and try to relax. I think u should have a much better idea by thurs or fri.

If u really really want to play, and feel it did not hurt too much, well, get a knee pad, or knee brace to put it on.

The best thing to do is stretch before you get to bed and make sure you get a good amount of rest. It should go away before the end of the weekend.

I think I got it before, or something like that, twice I think. The first time I still went for the running event( couldn't let my team down could I?) and the 2nd time.......come to think of it, I ran the 400m event too. lol. It hurt for 2 weeks. Ouch.

I think that if it's not too bad tomorrow then I will wait and hold off sports. I was supposed to have 2 v-ball games, and a badminton game between now and sat. but there's no way that's gonna happen. Then I will just put on my good old wrap.

Lol. Let me tell you this: I quit(yes, QUIT) the school's hand ball team, and volleyball too. And I rarely go swimming, badminton is more then enough for me. :) If I do too many things, I won't be able to improve in any. I didn't have any regrets abotu quitting the handball and volleyball team, even though it was nice, but I wanted to improve in badminton, so I quit it. Lol. Many people were shocked. ;)
