Strung totally new at 26lbs on my apacs nano 900 power, less than 15 stroke hits, it went broken....

Too crappy string at higher tension....costed me S$14.....anyone has this experience before with BG66?

where did it break? was it a mishit?

bg66@26lbs is not going to be durable. and you should know that before you ask for that combination.

Was doing base to base lobbing & the string snipped at the 4~5 'o clock position....i was suspecting a mis-hit to the frame which caused the break (but i didn't hear any frame sound when the string broke, only the string snipping sound). The breaking point seemed to be at the grommet area....this was what i had observed....but heart pain ahhhhh

Depending on how you hit, BG66 at that tension might not last very long, especially if you're inconsistent (ie. mishit)

But the string feedback feel was superb.....too bad it didn't last for at least a proper game....:(

Usually, i don't string more than 25lbs (to prevent tennis elbow in the long run)...but this time just wanna try higher tension....:p

BG66 shouldnt break that easily at 26lbs. either mishit too many times or poor stringing job.

If you can handle at 26 lbs then no need to use BG66 for extra power. I mean with BG80, BG85, or even BG65Ti will give you plenty of power already. As string doesn't give you much of power. Save some money for next time restring unless you are a rich guy or playing at the tournament level. Some country restring cost them around $30 :(

Do you mean that the grommet is faulty or cutting into the string?

yes. some stringers eg soh of classic sports do check if the grommets are okay before they proceed with the stringing.

i doubt so, my BG66 at 26lbs lasted over 3mths, plenty of miss hits. should be wrong string pattern or worn grommets.

So Soh did your string? Hmm.. that effectively eliminates both bad grommet and bad stringer.

BG66 may be a thin string but it's not really that fragile. My last BG66 @ 28lbs by Soh never broke -- I finally cut it because it felt dead. That said, one really bad mishit may kill any string.

I don think BG66 will break that easily on 26lbs if strung by soh. Unless it is lousy grommet. And at your level cephas i don think you will mishit that often so i rule it out. I think most likely is lousy grommets by apacs.

I'm also using BG66 strung by Soh , plenty of mishits but still no breakage.
