What is the standard height of badminton net?
    I wad playing at gombak....
4 courts nets were bout 1 inch lower then other 2( total 6 courts) cuz usually i played at other places i notice net were of opponent eye level...

But at gomak i can see opponent head..

I tried to untie but was stopped by scc personel,
He said its standard height, then i asked him bout the other 2 courts why higher, he got nothing to say.

The height of the net is 1.55 meters at the edge of the court and 1.254 m at the centre. [http://www.badminton-information.com/badminton_net_posts.html]
At some venues they don't like people playing with the nets the best thing to do, if they don't have fixed posts, is kick the posts backwards a little, not too much or the posts will rotate. But then the posts don't meet the tram lines, which I think isn't so important as long as it is even on both sides

andy05 is right, if u aren't able to untie the net, jus kick the posts back a bit to make the net tighter. Some places dont ave a clue!!

[The net's height is 5’ at the center and 5’1" at the poles.]

Use some common sense, 1.254m is just 4.2 feet high, this is absolutely wrong. . .

should be 1.55 meters at the edge of the court and 1.54 m at the centre.

Amazingly, no one has managed to answer this correctly so far. ;) Andy05 made a typo, and Omage007 used imperial measurements from old versions of the rules. The correct values are:

    • 1.55 m high above the doubles sidelines (approximately 5 feet 1.02 inches)
    • 1.524 m in the centre (exactly 5 feet)

You can download a copy of the current laws from the BWF website: http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file_download.aspx?id=22894 [pdf file]
