    Hi there,
I am a new members and even though I know there are several threads out there about where to play in montreal, they are all outdated. Places change their rates and times every few months...I used to play at my CEGEP (Dawson) but because of student population growth, there is no more open gym/badminton on weeknights.

I would like for everyone to share the places they know of in the Montreal region where we can play badminton. Please include hours, prices, adress (as much info as you can!)

Here is a pretty good place to go, never much people so you can play with the friend you bring.

    Monseigneur Richard high shcool (Verdun)
    Notre Dame de Lourdes (Verdun)

Costs 13$ to reserve a court and you must reserve at least 7 days in advance.
For both places, you must call here: 514 765 7150 or go in person to:

    Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux
    4501, rue Bannantyne
    Verdun, QC H4G 2T9

Call or visit to know the hours

Not sure how to edit my post so i'll write it as a reply,
The place i mentioned is in verdun (duh) and costs 13$ to rent a court (not sure if it's per hour or not.... i usually only play one hour) and it's 10$ if you have the access Verdun card

Go flood the gym at Centre-Claude Robillard Tuesday and thursday 7pm to 10pm, 8 dollars per day, can also pay 40$ for the fall but dunno if you still can. They have rotations over there, 5 min per person so if you guys are 4 , you get 20 mins, rotations are pretty fast

The sport center of the Olympic Stadium (metro Pie-IX/Viau) also has badminton every evening and on week-ends, I think. But the quality of the courts isn't that great...

There's also badminton at UQAM sport center, near Berri-UQAM, but they now require you to be accompanied by a student, although their rules change very often and it might not be the case anymore, it's worth checking though. You can find their complete schedule on the web and you can call them to get information.

Not far from there, at CEGEP du Vieux Montréal, there's badminton two evenings a week (tuesday and thursdays I thinik) but the court needs to be reserved ion advance.

FYI, I was there today and the gym is really nice with great lighting and excellent floor.

There were only two courts setup, but I think they would have setup more if there were more people. As it was, it was empty when we arrived. There was room for 6 courts.

The downer was that they kicked us out at 4:35 even though there was no one for the next hour. I dinked around the side near a bench with my 5 year old son and he insisted we leave given that badminton was "over". Meanwhile he and two other colleagues (all employed by the City of Montreal) sat around in their office, with the gym vacant. When we left the building at 5:30 the gym was still unoccupied. If they are going to be that uptight, they should at least turn the lights off and save some taxpayer money.

Well, if I were you jjashik I would have taken their name and made a complaint since they are employed by the city. I had lots of bad encounter like what you just mention and I just hate uptight people who follows the rule like the bible.

If you are interest, I'm a volonteer worker in Centre William Hingston near metro Parc and there are badminton during every sundays 2hpm-6pm where it's mostly for children and parents (though they are still some adult there) at the cost of 2$ for 18yrs+ (which goes direct to fund the elementary school badminton club). It's a pretty decent place so drop there with your son :)
