Why isn't badminton popular at all in North America, South America and the Middle East?

I know there's always some small Asian communities and clubs play in those areas. But that's it! Why?

Also, how to make this great sport as prestigious as tennis for example. People think of tennis as international and brilliant sport. A lot of people in those areas think that Badminton is an Asian sport and they don't even know that this sport originated from England too just like tennis. They don't even care about Badminton! At all! They just don't care! Look, the biggest badminton tournament prize money is around 10000 bucks but a tennis grand slam tournament prize money is around a whopping 2.5 mil bucks! Just see!

I really wanna make this sport as prestigious as that. This is a cool sport?!?

    What's your take on these?
