    none of them qualify.

you need to look for some matches of Gong Zhichao and Susi Susanti.

Susi, that is the only one...and GZC should be close....the rest in the list nowhere close, but to pick a current player, maybe, a big maybe would be JYJ and we are talking about gracefullness, not achievements here.

Define beauty play. Not sure what you mean

I think Wang Lin, Jiang Yangjiao (thanks OTB) and Wang Xin should be on the list of current players

    the nomination is:
    1.Tine Rasmusen - Graceful?
2.Wong Mew Choo - Runners can be graceful (eg GZC), but WMC always looks struggling
3.Wang Xin - Decent strokeplay, but movement not so great.
    4.Saina Nehwal - as above
5.Pi Hongyan - Nice strokes, smooth footwork, good form. Not got so much speed to control rallies against very top players though
6.Maria Kristin Yulianti - Been so long since I seen her play can't tell
    7.Salakjit Ponsana - See above
8.Bae Youn Joo - Not seen her at all - that I recall the name at least
9.Eriko Hirose - See WMC, except worse
10.Yip Pui Yin - At this point I thought you were joking..........

    I have to say not.

I define Graceful & beautiful as a player who can control the game effortlessly whilst keeping great echnique & form. Few players can do this & at the top level the form & grace breaks down.

Not to say the the Number 1 players are graceful (eg WYH = No) but they have to be capable of producing results.

The most recent player who had this I would say were Mia Audina (although arguable didn't produce results), ZN 2002/3 (after that she was less powerful & fast and more grit & strength). XXF has great strokes, but always looked a bit clumsy.

Further back you have to look at GZC, SS, YZY

For Modern I would argue there isn't one - for the reasons above people can still be WR No1, WC, OG etc.. but not be graceful.

    Wang Lin.

    as mentioned above.

she is one of the most rare. have height, power, speed, and looks fairly graceful when she moves.

Susi Susanti for the winner =). None of the current batch of WS makes me want to watch them over and over again like Susi Susanti does on the 90's. The most important thing: She deliver on big events

WSX should be at the top of the list for current players. Unlike WL, WYH and JHJ and Tine who use pure power and speed, she moves around the court so effortless, and it's her placements of her shots, not her power to win her games. And of course, she is cute too.
