finally all of them had catch the attention let's compare and see who will win the race to WC2011,TC 2010,OG 2012 and other major? mak/tan(20/21,7 year younger than koo/tan) yet to win a title but they have beaten most of their senior(except gan/tan) and a complete win over another 2 competitor(2-0 chan/lim and 1-0 goh/teo) with a nice result against their teammates, they earned the 2nd slot to asian games already best result was mas gp gold 2010 where they beat koo/tan in quater final to advance to 2nd consecutive semi final goh/teo(21/20,7 year younger than koo/tan) beat kim/shin to win their 1st title(vietnam ic) but their record against mak/tan and chan/lim is kinda bad best result was china master ss 2010 where they beat 1st seed lee/fang(who won 4 titles this year) chan/lim(22/21,5 year younger than koo/tan) the 1st back up pair who won a gp gold title(beat lee/chong in thailand 2009) some might think that they are xd specialist(which include me and eaglehelang) but they seem to have a better international tournament record than the other 2. best result:thailand gp gold 2009 let's compare and rank them rank of internal affair between this 3 pair 1,mak/tan win 3 loss 0 2,cps/lkw,win 1 lost 2 3,teo/goh,win 0 lost 3 rank of international achievement 1,cps/lkw,1 gp gold title and 1 ss semi final appearence 2,teo/goh,1 vietnam ic title 3,mak/tan,0 title but highest wr among them so,how do u think? who is the better pair now? who will be the better pair in future? will they rise to at least lee/chong achievement?
Don't talk about WC or OG.... I m happy IF one of these pairs can win SS titles annually and then we talk about BIG tournament..
Skills wise, suitability for MD : 1) Mak/TWK 2)GWS/TKS 2) CPS/LKW Mental strength at International level : 1) CPS/LKW 2) GWS/TKS 3) Mak/TWK Potential to be selected for major tournaments & team events : Mak/TWK, GWS/TKS same, then CPS/LKW Potential to do well SS & higher level events : 1) GWS/TKS 2) CPS/LKW(provided only of them do double duty on XD) 3) Mak/TWK I think CPS/LKW will end up like Fang/Lee, can win some SS titles but wouldnt hack it at major tourneys - not in MD.Mind you, I like them the best among the 3. Mainly cos both CPS and LKW have to also play XD, they will be lost steam by the time reach semi or final. Plus, CPS will focus more on XD, being Msia's 1st permanent XD pair . In any case, I'm glad they're now under TKH,hopefuly TKH can work out sthing to improve their game. To me, 2 pairs will rise to be Msia's 2nd MD, to replace Fuzzy pair is not hard, hahaha. After 2012, for them to get achievements like uncles CTF/LWW is very possible.
Mak/TWK need to gain more mental strength, otherwise just become a punching bag in Asian Games Hope the AG can help them improve their mental strength... Good luck to them in Japan SS, see what they can do against Ko/Yoo round 2!
Predictions for Japan SS : Mak/TWK 0-2 Ko/Yoo :crying: CPS/LKW 0-2 MB/CM Yup, these predictions are not hard to make, in fact very normal...
lets see what happen in 2 years time.. give the kids sometime to sharpen their skills & gain experiences. Not everyone can be like Lee Young Dae... excel at 17!
Yes, they have beaten Gan/Tan! Kedah Open 2nd round! But yes, this is all local tourneys only. They don't have good record against outside pairs.
thanks for all opinion and correction which mean mak/tan have beaten all of them let see if undeadshot prediction come true
just watched the match between chan/lim and yoo/ko quite surprise why goh/teo cant beat them in quater final hmm tan kim her need to press harder on lim khim wah if he want this pair to success! they lack of rally setting skill wise, still think goh/teo and mak/tan better let see how they fare in japan open
LKW too kan cheong me thinks. Agree, skills wise for MD, Mak/TWK, GWS/TKS better. Limsy, take into account possibility CPS/LKW split, since now CPS starting to move up in XD, LKW often train MD without his partner. Since now TKH take charge of them, could happen next year.
All wrong! And I'm elated to see that! CPS/LKW now putting up a strong show, the strongest among the 3.
Upsets List as of 22/9/2010 1) CPS/LKW - Mathias Boe/Cartsen Mogensen (R32 JPN SS), Chai Biao/Zhang Nan (R16 CHN Masters) 2) Mak/Tan - Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong (QF MAS GP), Ko Sung Hyun/Yoo Yeon Seong (R32 JPN SS) 3) GWS/TKS - Fang Chieh Min/Lee Sheng Mu (R16 CHN Masters), Kim Ki Jung/Shin Baek Cheol (Final Vietnam IC) The names, of course are more-known names, otherwise because their rank is so low, they would have upset a few more.
In Japan SS, it's your fav pair's turn to prove their selection to AG is justified. Cos the list is not finalised, deadline to reach organisers is 30 Sept. Despite the draw, I expect Mak/TWK to give a stronger showing in Japan SS, but they wouldnt win the title lah of course.
I think they should put CPS/LKW in the Asiad too, that way more versatile, can pick either one pair to play... KKK/TBH, Mak/Tan and CPS/LKW for doubles, LCW, HH, 2 more. (Too bad WCH is not an option.)
malaysian doubles now looks strong 1 w/no.1 and 3 in the making, thats good the 3 pairs mentioned are more or less the same age so whose gonna be top doesn't matter its still early to tell until when they grab a title then we can see them more clearly from there meanwhile bam should bang everything they have on them
what i mean is when a player or a pair grabs a big title (depend on their individual goals set) how they take it from there matters a lot... something like this: as you progress deeper into a tournament you are going to meet better and better player/pair if you are nobody, nobody will take a note on you if you have just become somebody, everybody will be keeping an eye on you! so in actual fact, after you grab a title, its a start of a new beginning its like 'welcome to the club' and its going to be harder in training, in discipline oneself/themselves .....
CPS/LKW got outfoxed by INA veterans Chandra/Luluk 21-17, 10-21, 15-21 like I feared. Study the weaknesses, improve & hopefully they will beat the uncles the next time round. Next, CPS will fy to India for Commonwealth, after that Asian Games - in XD. LKW will play in Vietnam Open, MD partnering Chooi KM, XD partnering Lim Yin Loo. I hope BAM will add LKW's name for AG, max is 10 male players
