I was just stringing my racket and i heard a pop and saw this. I was using a 2 point dropweight stringing machine and was stringing the mains at 20.5lbs when this happened. What should i do guys my beloved racket TT_TT any input would be greatly appreciated thanks
the question is: why did it break? 20.5lbs isn't very high and normally rackets won't break. you need to understand what happened in order to prevent it from happening again.
ya, i don't understand why the frame gave out at such a low tension. could mounting it improperly cause the break? when i took it off the stringer it looked like it wasn't secured tight enough and was pulled a bit off centre. still hating myself for ruining my racket :crying:
no. i doubt such little movement will crack the racket. did you use the correct weight? did you set the weight correctly? if your machine is a tennis machine, some of them have different weight (usually 1/2 of the tennis weight) for badminton.
ya i have a tennis machine but i have parts to swap around to string for badminton. i checked the weight a bunch of times after it broke to double check that i had it set correctly and i had the larger weight removed and it was set to the correct weight. ughh this is so frustrating.
