Oh man, please excuse the multiple typos in my previous post. I though I edited them out... but I guess not.
As I stated earlier, Alvin pulled out too late and due to the situation with the delaying of the Canadian teams because of the quality of the Athlete's Village, it was just too late to send Joe Rogers. Badminton Canada tried to put in a request, but unfortunately it was denied.
Some other miscellaneous information is that Milaine Cloutier is in fact 38. She decided to come out of retirement to try to make the Commonwealth Games and she may have made the team, but offered her spot instead and became the alternate. She retired officially after World Championships in Paris (WD with Valerie St Jacques from Quebec).
Anna Rice will also be retiring after this tournament, so Michelle Li and Charmaine Reid will be soon competing for the top WS spot.
Alvin Lau and Jon Vandervet will no longer be playing MD anymore. The top MD spot by default will go to Adrian Liu (BC)/Derrick Ng (BC), but obviously changes could not be made at this point. So a scratch team of Jon and Toby will be used for the Commonwealth Games, as there is really nobody else.
Yonex Canada will be sponsoring the on-court clothing for the team.
Other than that, I think that's everything...

Our full team is now in India. Joycelyn Ko, Alex Pang, and Michelle Li made it in late last evening to complete the team. They arrived a day later because the travel agent could not get tickets for them with the rest of the team. Fortunately, it was probably to their benefit to come a day later because on our flight from Toronto to Brussels, Belgium (then to New Delhi), a lady had a heart attack on the plane (actually, she was sitting next to Jon Vandervet ) and they decided to turn back right before we reached the half way point. So we had to turn back and go somewhere in Newfoundland to drop her off and refuel. By the time we made it to Belgium, then to India, we arrived around 3:30am instead of at 9:10pm the day before.
We're all pretty good now though as we're up to face Uganda early next morning. A few of us opted to skip the opening ceremonies so I guess we'll see how things go. The individual draws were released yesterday and they don't look too awesome for most of us, but we will do our best

Best of luck. Don't let jetlag and a tough draw daunt that winning spirit. We are all cheering for the team!!
