Title says all.. during practive this evening i landed unforturnately on my left foot and it twisted inwards. I'm pretty sure i heard a small *pop* but as of now (about an hour after the injury) there is no swelling.. But it hurts whenever i walk and when i bend it in an inward position.. You guys have any recommendations as of what i could do?? Thanks in advance.
R I C E for immediate actions rest ice - apply ice on the twisted area compress elevation - put your leg at higher position.
Omg.. didn't think it was that serious since there was no swelling.. :/ I will go seek doctor immediately. Thanks guys, for your advice !
Just spoke to a doctor (well a nurse).. and she told me it sounded as a strained ligament (sorry if that is not the correct term). I mentioned the small *pop* sound and she said it could easily be the strained ligament which would make that sound, and since i could walk pretty decently, with compression however (can't walk straight without), i was told that it probably wasn't anything seriously.. Yaay I'm really glad i called the doctor, thanks guys!
Ohh that sucks =/ I handed on my right ankle wrong during a jumpsmash last year. I heard a pop and couldn't put any weight on it for 3 days. I got x-rays (no bone fracture...phew), and doc told me to wait 8-12 weeks before playing again. I waited 10 weeks and wore an ankle brace for the first 3 months after I started playing again. Watched a lot of badminton tourny videos to help keep my craving down...
