Against England, we probably can win through MS and WS, WD and XD should be lost, KKK/TBH vs AC/NR can be the decider
Againts India, 2:2..MS & MD for Malaysia..WS & XD for India..

Yeah I'm surprised how terrible the result reporting is...would've liked to see these on Tournament Software and use LiveScore as well...

Agree. If IND and/or ENG can capture the WS, WD and XD matches from MAS (it's expected to be at the Semi-Finals or the Final), then MAS won't win Gold in the team event.

I'm counting on MAS winning at least one of the three matches you listed. But if MAS should flounder in either the MS or MD, then it will be very difficult.

This year's target for MAS at Badminton is 3 Gold medals?

    We can expect;
    * 1st Gold for LCW (MS Individual Event)
    * 2nd Gold for KKK/TBH (MD Individual Event)

Where would the 3rd Gold be expected to be coming from, I wonder?

I think, out of these WS, WD and XD......WD would be in better chance to take that crucial point if against India not against Sin.

If against Sin, then WD will be the least possible of contributing point in team event.

Also depends on who will meet MAS in the final - IND or ENG?

IND strong in WS & XD and possibly MD
ENG strong in XD, MD and possibly WD

Arrow IND and ENG will have equal chance as MAS to win Gold at the Team Badminton event

    .
Regarding the team event, it looks like a 90% chance that LCW and KKK/TBH would not be defeated. But that is only 2 out of the 5 matches (as played in the team event).

IMHO, IND and ENG will have equal chance as MAS to win Gold at the Team event.

So we more or less agree that MAS, IND and ENG are in contention for the Team title.

However, while MAS has two very solid events in MS and MD, and IND has only one in WS, ENG cannot be sure of any.
Only the form and circumstances of the day will determine the players' performance and both IND and ENG will have to hope for favourable outcomes.

    .
Yes, team players for ENG, IND and MAS do share about equal strength in the Team event at this 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. It's about the same strength, as you witnessed at our 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Actually, at our 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games I was expecting SIN to win Bronze in the Team event; But for SIN, Li Li wasn't playing as well as she should. And for IND, Saina Nehwal was playing exceptionally well.

This web site is a disgrace. The organisers should be ashamed of themselves. I was involved with badminton at Melbourne 2006 and if we'd had this sort of results page, I would have been dismissed instantly.

Unfortunately, the CWG organisation has a contract with a sports IT organisation to cover the whole Games - and they (the contractors) have a 'one size fits all' approach. I can attest to that having been involved with the sport at Melbourne. We even had to prepare our own tie shet to record scores because the contractors could not/would not prepare one that was based on our specific layout. Tournament Software won't get a look in under these circumstances, much as we'd like it.

    Hi willnz,

    Welcome to BadmintonCentral !!!

Yes, congratulations to you for supplying us with easier to read Badminton results when the 2006 Commonwealth Games was held in Melbourne.

Even though I was at the Badminton venue everyday, when I returned home I would log in to read the results every night.

You have done a great job.

ALready posted in pg 2 : Team. To defend Team gold. The decision makers took WD out due to WPT's absense.

As for website, yes yes , fully agreed with the other posters, this website even worse than SEA Games . Want to see update or results for other sports also so slow.
