Has anyone got information regarding the deceleration factor of a shuttlecock. we always speak about speed at the hit, but I'm also interested on speed as it arrives to the opponent. I will guess that it will be a linear deceleration that can easily calculated with the shuttle speed at start, distance to a point and time traveled.

    any informations?

    Thanks

not that simple. there is a lot of spin involved as well.

if you notice that professional or advance player plays, they induce a lot of spin into the shuttle. which makes it go very fast in the beginning but dramatically slows down.

vs intermediate player who can only rely on the natural spin and natural deceleration.

A shuttle's deceleration can be variable. A shuttle can be slowed down by the player, i.e. in a steep drop reverse slice drop shot versus a normal drop.
