NOOOO my LCP 800 head is no bent!! because i strung it wayyy too harddd! =(( still should i still use it or should i just leave it? because the price is quite expensive....RM 199.50! 50USD!! personal info: location:malaysia experience:4months current racquet:dms 320~ thanks in advance!! =DD
a RM200 racket will likely not be made of very stiff material. so it is not a good idea to string it with high tension. cut it and get it strung again.
but it;s been bent since about 3yrs ago....does it still have a chance of recovery?? anyways wads the defect of having a bent racquet?
I think what you mean is the racket head is a bit distorted. Maybe you should restring it with another stringer at lower tension. If the lower tension is too low for you, I guess it's time to get a better racket. Cheers
zombie:yea i think it counts ~ i think i will try to upload a pics if i know....if i string it at a lower tension ...y does it go back to is original shape? curous =P ...and a shop owner said it cant be recoverd T.T
i had a friend with cab 8, metal frame distorted. he restrung it at classic sports, the frame shape was restored. so, some racquets may be rescued
my bro's racket was actually dostorted...i seen him cut the strings and it went back to normal so i took my racket and cut the strings.....but nothing happened,....wad the heck??
It depends on the frame materials. Steel/aluminum frames will permanently warp, but can be restored if strung properly and very carefully on a six point system and this is assuming its not too bad of a warp. When I was first stringing, I had a Yonex B-500 to practice on ($10) and the first restringing caused it to go completely circular (23x23 tension). I cut out the strings, and since it was a cheap metal frame, it stayed that way. A year later, I stretched it out by using the North and South supports and pushing the sides in using the side supports, and restrung it. Luckily it came out almost perfectly restored. Carbon fiber frames have a tendency to do 3 different things: 1. If distorted slightly, the strings can be cut quickly and it will return to its original shape, almost like a rubber band that was stretched, and then let go. 2. If distorted too much, the frame will splinter and crack, rendering it unusable. 3. If heated, it will distort as the carbon fibers change their structure. There have been many posts on the forum of the consequences of heating the racket, like in a car trunk. The one story that pops out of my head is the one where a racket had been left in a trunk long term, and was restrung. The racket was fine until it was taken off the support system and crumpled in on itself. When the strings were cut out, it returned to its original shape relatively unharmed. Distorted rackets are usually a lost cause. You can try, but if its carbon fiber and permanently distorted, any attempts to correct it by adding tension would probably result in a break. My advice is to get a new racket.
I hate to say it, but you might want to start browsing... 3 years is quite a while. And after materials are deformed, once they go back to their original position, they are noticeably weaker.
that could be the reason... i always aware of not to put the rackets in my car especially under the hot sun. So have you got your new racket?
