Can anybody here tell us their experience bringing badminton rackets when traveling within the Philippines?

This was discussed in the general forum. However, the rules in other airlines are different from ours.

In other countries, carrying racket bags in the cabin is allowed. They did not allow me in PAL. However, they did not consider my racket bag as an excess baggage so I didn't pay anything. They did mention though that Mabuhay Miles members have special privileges of having their rackets as carry on.

I pleaded to bring my rackets with me as they're my babies (hahaha). I was declined. But they did consider it as a special baggage. But still! :p

BTW, I attached the email PAL sent to me.

    Thats really not good

I carried my LN 9 rackets bag To CHN SIN AUS INA no problem. But doesn't it say badminton racket is included in the free baggage allowance and also how big is your badminton bag? Is it more than 115cm? and weight more than 7kgs? I dont think so. What did they say when rejecting your bag?

They said it's not allowed. My bag only has a single compartment. It's not really that big. They weighed it and it's only 5.5 kg.

as far as i can see from that letter, it does not say anything that should prevent you from carrying a baddy racket or back on board
