With the absence of LCW and KKK/TBH, let's see how far can the elite backup players carry the flag of "jaguh gemilang" (MAS flag)... BOLEH
uncle jimbo, title too general, which tournament? Denmark Open or French Open? or both? I assume both, start with Denmark Open first and next week French Open....
lolx... Denmark and French Open... btw, does it matter? It will be "same old story" and/or "we'll try harder in the next tourney" kind of stories... BOLEH!!!
Soren Gravholt vs Daren Liew (MAS) Sune Gavnholt vs Kwong Beng Chan (MAS) Sure can "feel good"... lah... BOLEH
its ok for new thread here if its the same stuff all over again i am sure it will be merged later. lets see what round darren liew can pull off this time i really hope he get some good result
They will up against those european player mostly.. can they win against them? as many top asian players skip this though.
if both liew daren & CKB fail to qualify to main draw, then it is a kiss goodbye for MAS team gold medal in AG
MS backup most likely no improvement, gauge them how many times also useless. Gauge MD better, see whether they are yoyo and inconsistent or can be depended on. Prediction : Chan Kwong Beng to make it to main draw, Liew Daren to lose to Wang Zhengming. BOLEH!!!
if mak/tan & goh/teo able to clear 1st round, they will be meeting each other for a place in SF. but it will not be easy for both pairs. it will be a bonus if OSH/fairuz able to enter QF.
It all depends on Boe/Mogensen's form for GWS/TKS... they were in bad shape in the first round of the Japan Open, but in front of their home crowd who are hoping for either them or Peter Gade to land a title, I'm sure that they will give it all they got. Too bad for GWS/TKS.
let's c what is the score if liew daren plays with wang zhengming, from the score, can know how much improvement in liew's performance
Actually, Liew Daren is very unpredictable, even if he gets a good score against Wang Zhengming, he could easily get a bad score against a weak player.
http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2010/10/27/sports/7305301&sec=sports Daren, Kwong Beng stay on course for the main draw ODENSE: Malaysian shuttlers Liew Daren and Chan Kwong Beng stayed on course to get into the main draw of the Denmark Open men’s singles competition with straight-game victories over Danish opponents in the first round of the qualfying tournament yesterday. Daren defeated Soren Gravholt 21-19, 21-14 in 31 minutes while Kwong Beng took 33 minutes to beat Sune Gavnholt 21-14, 21-16. Daren will take on China’s Wang Zhengming for one of the four qualifying spots in the draw. “I expect a tough match against the Chinese and I need to step up my pace. “But I am ready to take him on to earn a first-round match against Dicky Palyama (of Holland),” he said. Kwong Beng will play against Emil Vind of Denmark and a win will give him a match against second seeded Indonesian Taufik Hidayat.
Emil VIND beat Kwong Beng CHAN (MAS): 21-11 21-14 (30min) Daren LIEW (MAS) beat Zhengming WANG (CHN): 21-16 11-21 21-18 (62min)
100% agree. If I'm not mistaken, WZM is quite good... only 20-21yrs old... I think he is the 5th MS in CHN (after LD, CJ, BCL and CL)
Dicky PALYAMA vs Daren LIEW (MAS) Chung Jen CHEN / Yen Jui LIN vs Mohd Fairuzizuan MOHD TAZARI / Soon Hock ONG (MAS) Yohan Hadikusumo WIRATAMA [7] / Wai Hong WONG vs Hee Chun MAK / Wee Kiong TAN (MAS) Mathias BOE [1] / Carsten MOGENSEN vs Wei Shem GOH / Kok Siang TEO (MAS) BOLEH... BOLEH... BOLEH... !!!
