i have a wooden yonex racket and the head is severely warped by about 4 centimeters. I was wondering if anyone knew what to do in this situation.
in the old days, wooden rackets are stored with a clamp that ensure they don't warp. it will be hard to find those clamps. do you plan to use this racket? seems like a dinosaur.
I'm guessing first thing is to remove the strings. You probably need a rack and press it and keep it under that press for a few. Maybe use 2 flat boards, put some pegs on it and then sandwich the racquet between them with some c-clamps to hold the tension. As for reshaping, All I know is that you can warp wood a little by steaming it, but I don't know what it would do to the strength.
I love the picture with the flash light lol but as for reshaping you may end up weakening the wood and leading to cracks good luck with that one eh
Do I see correctly on the 1st and 5th picture that the frame is broken in the region of 5 o'clock? If so the racket is doomed. U can only repair it and use as collectible. Use a clamp (I kept mine over the years) or do like in post 5 above. However remember to force it a little the other way for some time. Good luck K
the face of your opponent will be more priceless if you beat them with this potato chipped yonex racket !
With paintings on canvas that are contorted, you wet it from behind and then lay them on the floor (If u dare to ;-)) So you could spray it with some water and then press it between 2 plates. It will possibly become even again, but the paint most likely will peel off.
