Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Arya Maulana Aldiartama and Jeka Wiratama/Rafiddias Akdhan Nugroho will be competing in BD U-17. Both are hoped to do well in this tourney. No representatives in BD U-19 though.

Li-Ning Singapore Youth International 2010 starts today

It will be another busy week for Singapore badminton when youths aged U13 to U19 meet at the Yio Chu Kang Sports Hall for the Li-Ning Singapore Youth International today till Sunday, Dec 19. The Li Ning National Singles Age Group events had just been completed last week.

The Boys Singles U15 and U17 are now battling for honours in the courts and the schedule and results can be obtained from:

    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...D1AD58-64D5-42CA-93E4-7B78FB687228&d=20101213

The Boys SU15 players come from 10 other countries apart from host Singapore:

Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Taipei, Australia, Malaysia, India and Hong Kong.

Southeast Asia powerhouses like Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are expected to be the favourites to win this event. But Taipei and Singapore should not be ruled out completely.

So far Singapore, as host with the most entries under this category, has 17 players through the first round, with Taipei (8), Indonesia (6), Malaysia (5), Philippines (3), Hong Kong (2), Thailand (2) and one each from Australia and Sri Lanka following behind. Hopefully our some of our boys will be able to survive the next round.

This is very good exposure for our young boys and hopefully in the next 5 years we can still see them in action. :D

But U17 and U19 may proved to be the most exciting. It seems there is no U11 events.

So do come down to the sports hall to watch the 'stars of tomorrow' in action.;)

    Indonesia so many players that
I did not know before participating in this tournament.
only a few of the famous Indonesian junior players
who participated in this tournament (CMIIW).
I hope raffidias / jeka and arya / kevin can make a surprise
considering they are supposed to U15 age class (1996).
please share some photos of this tournament.
RI is certainly going to win an individual class,
I did not know she was in the women's doubles :D.
