Newest one? By HK, TW or Mainland???

There's seems to be tons of versions of Jinyong's stuff. I can never track which version is the "newest".

If u refer to the new version in mainland, I might disagree. I just happen to hate the 2 main characters.

Dang.. you guys are like some of the other badminton friends I know. One spends all her time watching chinese shows. Some other guy watches like a crap load of em. I was speaking to my other friend who was also chinese and we heard them say all this chinese stuff in the back about movies and he was like "What you guys talking about, chinese literature?" Haha.. Damn I have no background. The only thing I really celebrate is chinese new years.. Red pocket :)

If u r referring to the newest mainland version, which came out sometime last yr...

I don't like the two main characters, seems both were bad selections:

Male leading character: Li Yapeng (Guo Jing)
Female leading character: Zhou Xun (Huang Rong)

    yah.. that's the version

Li Yaping (Guo Jing) I think didn't really suit the charecter... he looked more "dumb" than "sincere"

I thought Zhou Xun (Huang Rong) was very well matched for the charecter tho... slick, smart and cunning

Actually... honestly speaking... I'm kinda hooked on her smile now :p

    Errrr...

Sorry to say that, but personally, I really really don't like Zhou Xun that much. Yeah, she's cute sometimes, but after knowing her background, I could just hmmmm.....

Plus, I like girls with cute voice, which is totally different of hers. Hers remind me about like a 40 yrs old lady, just whinning about everything everyday...

    Sorry.... hehehehehehe...

    No offense here...

Used to read a report about how she's been discover by the directors, and what she was doing and look (dress) like before she's star...

Hmmmm... sad but true, well, kinda a messed up life for her early ages...

Well, sorry to bring this up. However, ppl might change... hehehehehhehe.... Like she can be the "little angel" for u now... :D

    Not let JChen99 kill me...

Hmmm... just say a little bit about Zhou Xun when she first been "discovered". She dressed in mini skirt, with colorful nail, while smoking waiting for her friend's "try out"... This pic just make me feel weired, and man, I just hate to see girls smoking...

Plus, such combination for dressing (a lot of more details) just seems no taste at all.

Sorry sorry for saying too much... hehehehhhe...

I love the story you guys are talking about. But I assume it's in Mandarin. I hated the last one from TVB in Hong Kong. As much as I liked the female lead, the show was just crap.

u mean she was dressing kinda skanky? (dunno if this is appropritate here... haha! MINORS... DO NOT READ THIS POST) :p actually, I dun mind how an actor is/was/will be, as long as the point where I notice them they still look ok... :D so dun think too much about offending me LB, it takes a LOT more than that to do the job ;)

smoking... that'd explain y her teeth looked kinda weird on the show... i guess t'was from smoking. Honestly tho, I dun lik ppl who smoke PERIOD!! dun matter if they're guys or gals.

Anyway, back on topic (if u can even call this a topic:p)... There's something about her smile that's quite different than most actresses/female singers out there... that's wut caught my eye ;) and trust me, it takes a LOT to catch my eye nowadays :p

btw... she kinda looks lik "zhao wei" from certain angles, but with a more distinct chin and skinnier face :)

Well, isn't that true for 99% of the shows these days???

Just have several handsome guys and pretty cute girls, that's it. The stories are crap, and the young kids don't know how to act, but just showing off their "coolness" and "nature beauty".

I agree. Zhou Xun's smile is kinda unique. That's why she can switch between many kinda characters compare to most of others. She's not a pure cuttie, but more like a mystery to me sometimes.

As for Zhao wei, she's perfectly suit for "brainless" cuttie style. Seems more simple than Zhou Xun. However, don't like either one of them.

The only part I like Zhou Xun is her song in the movie "Holleywood in HK". Kinda a mystery, with twisted feeling. 100% fit for her own style.

Try the cantonese made movie "Infernal affairs"

Yes, I know the title makes me want to cringe but actually the story is quite good and the film quite well made. It was a pleasent surprise compared to other HK offerings. Definately reccomendable.

haha! well you can barely see it in the movie... iz jus cuz the whole movie when she's in the scene I'd jus stare at her face and look at her smile so I notice :p

yah!! I know wut it is now! It's that "confident" look she has in her smile! makes her look smart, or in chinese it's called "Ice Snow Smart" (<-- I'd lik to see someone successfully translate this :p)... actually, I kinda like pics more when she's standing on a 45 degree angle from the camera, kinda shades out the pretruding chin :p also, when she's in deep thought she looks pretty good too. I guess the saying (In Chinese) "Ren zhen de ru ren zui mei li" (however u translate that to english... haha) comes into play quite a bit :p

All my friends say I lik smart women, and I guess they kinda rite ;)
    Damn I'm so hooked :D
