fixed Clamps droop and don't stay up

I'm not sure if it's my machine or I'm just a dink (no connection to sir dinkalot)...

My fixed clamps sit about an inch below the stringbed, which is fine, but when I go to start the mains and look them in, they still stay below instead of locking into place at the right height of the racket.

I am using a Mutual Power 7700 with the proprietary fixed clamps....I am still waiting for the flying clamps from yy and mbs...just wanted to try my hand without them as the stringfest videos clearly show one can do it without problems.

Anyone out there know where Im' going wrong?

1. Could you make a picture?
2. Are you sure your fixed clamps are for badminton, not tennis?
3. Do you have springs or have you lost them in fixed clamps?

Having spoken to the machine supplier, they are tennis clamps and they have the strings. Outside of the mouth of the clamp, this shouldn't make much of a difference should it?

I had the same problem when i started, I found the problem was the tension being put on it since it didn't lock there. The way I solved this is what when tensioned it will hold and therefore won't drop anymore.

I may just add another spring to the bottom to raise the clamps up :P

So if the bars represents the clamp siting in the holster and the arrows are force. When the force is pulled along the tensioned string it pushing against the holster that fixes it. This leads to it being held up by friction.

This is my opinion of what is happening but I'm no expert in physics. I only observe and report what I think I see lol.

first string job tension attempted 26lbs...tension achieve 18lbs...failed effort haha

Actually it's an interesting thing about fixed clamps, sometimes when they aren't calibrated properly they'll slip. But if they're too tight they'll cut the strings.

so I figured out my problem...the gripper on the 2086 is too wide for badminton string, needed to add a business card...wow I'm an idiot

How old is the Wise Unit? I brought mine around 1.5 years ago and my gripper has no problem with Badminton strings. I has try bg80 and also bg66. No problem at all.

I think the diagram is upside down:

but the principle is correct: there is a force pulling the top of the clamp and this sets up friction between the clamps "stem" and the tube in which it slides. This is what keeps the clamp from falling down into the tube.
