i say on equipment alone, it is 50% + 50%. i have been doing the same tension and string on different rackets and they do make a significant difference.

it is a good thing to point out though, as most people spend 90% attention racket and 10% on string and tension.

    Racket 5%, rest is training/coaching.

My coach could beat with a broom. What I played with would not matter.

drew tze en & Bluehinder , just leave out the human factor out. The thread started only asking about the objective issue of best racket combo. Lets assume just one player, that is YOU, how do you weight in a percentage term a racket spec, string (and tension) and grip? Personally i will rank sting (and tension) the highest follow closely by the racket and then grip. That said i totally hate towel grip, plus also i got small palm so i always like a thiner grip.

Another way to look at the question is how quick or easy you adjust to changes from your ideal weapon. Eg. A change of string/tension will take me weeks to adjust (cos Im so fussy about it) whereas probably i still can switch around between NS9900 to AT900 within a few games.

Totally agree with that. I can play well with many type of racket but just can't play well with low tension racket ( < 26 ) & thick grip
