Hi there all, I have been searching the net for a couple of days now from some decent badminton equipment stockists in the UK... WHERE ARE THEY ALL!!! Here are the ones I have found (Not All Good): http://www.centralsports.co.uk/ http://www.newitts.com http://www.sportyshop.co.uk/ http://www.sweatband.com/sweatband/default.asp http://www.tennisnuts.org/ Anyone got any others? I will be forever in your debt... ;-)
The two best shops in London are ATM and Gefen. Gefen is a string specialists, and ATM has good deals on shuttles. Both offer a wide range of rackets at low prices, although Central Sports is probably cheaper for most models (but you have to order through the post, takes time). A lot of people also like Wembley Sports, but I'm not sure if they have a web site.
Do those first two that you mention have a web presence? If so, could someone tell me the URL? Thanks. (Hating being stuck in Aberystwyth more and more every day...)

Re: Good UK Online Stores?/Prices e.g. Carlton Airblade 2000: www.racket-shop.de = Euro 64,1/ 125 DM Carlton Rasmussen: www.racket-shop.de = Euro 51,3/ 99 DM Yonex MP 100: www.badmintonversand.de = Euro 127,6/ 249 DM Yonex Ti 10 : www.badmintonversand.de = Euro 112,3/ 219 DM
Re: Good UK Online Stores?/Prices Very good prices... It may certainly be worth considering in future.
UK mail order shops This might be of interest to peeps in the UK. Someone on the BandmintonUK site recommended a couple of UK shops/mail order places that are quite reasonable (relative to UK price ). Advancedrackets.com (based in Cardiff) http://www.advancedrackets.com/ Gefen Sports (based in Kensal Rise, London) http://www.gefensports.co.uk/ AMT (based in Southgate, London) http://www.ishop.co.uk/ishop/677/shopscr1.html Advancedrackets seems to be the cheapest of the lot so far. I just bought a Ti-SP (SR) form them for 80 UKP all inclusive and got a freebie pack of Yonex Super grap to boot (shame the colour they gave me was yucky). Their service was fast as well, ordered online at 3pm, received my racket the next day at 12 noon. Haven't tried the other two but might go to Gefen for some shuttles soon. If anyone has any other good shops in the UK the know of please share. (thanks Jim for pointer to AMT, although didn't buy from them in the end)
Re: UK mail order shops there is another one central sports in Converty they do mail -order, and probably the best and largest mail -order service in UK www.centralsports.co.uk hope it helps if any problem, feel free to e-mail me and discuss badminton!!! happy badminton
uk online shops Everyone, plase list all the UK badminton online shop there is so there will be a reference for others. Thnx you!
www.tennisnuts.co.uk www.advancedrackets.com www.centralsports.co.uk www.dtsrackets.com (maybe, website update appears to be in progress) www.sportdiscount.com www.totalracquetsports.co.uk Of these I've only bought from Central Sports over the internet
Best places to buy in UK Hiya guys, i thought it would be helpful if we pooled together our knowledge on where to buy in UK, such as mail order via internet. I currently know of: www.centralsports.co.uk www.ebay.co.uk www.winexdirect.com not sure of anywhere else....can anyone chip in? thx
badders.net jtsports.co.uk directsports-eshop.com prosportuk.com tagsports.co.uk tennisnuts.com ukrackets.com yehlex.co.uk All UK based sites
That's more or less it, except for... www.AdvancedRackets.com This store was selling the mp77 when it was newly released for £60 incl. delivery + a free Yonex All England bag. They also have a very good returns policy (don't ask!). I haven't bought anything from either of these shops and so can't comment much on their price or quality of service: www.dtsrackets.com (mp99 listed at £98.99 incl. free UK delivery, pricy on other racquets though). www.racket-sport.com (rather overpriced for an online shop) I wish R&R in Glasgow had an online store; mind you, they'd probably not make much more profit if they had. Others I've just noticed in my favourites folder (haven't checked the content of these sites) : http://www.racquet-zone.co.uk/ http://www.davidrosesports.co.uk/ http://www.sportswholesaler.co.uk http://www.newitts.com I spend way too much time on the net!
Maybe we should update this thread whenever we notice particularly good offers. Central sports are selling Yehlex Tournament shuttles for £7.50 per dozen (free postage when you buy 8 dozen); that's even cheaper than buying from Yehlex direct. For clubs buying in bulk I think the online price is £7 or lower if you're crazy enough to buy more than 50 by phone order. I've always been a little concerned about buying shuttles in bulk, because I'd need to stuff them in an empty cupboard (which tagsports advises against), but I've never really noticed much difference on the quality or durability of shuttles depending on how I store them.
New Store We have just opened a new online store at www.badders.net. It is an extension to the UK's leading community website Badders.com. I won't mention any more, otherwise this post may indeed look like a shameless plug Jonathan. www.badders.net
