I think Darren Liew is a better player (or at least in better form) than the player that BAM sent last year (Chong Wei Feng) I remember watching Peter Gade dismantle Chong at last years Copenhagen Masters.

Only 3 pairs in MD? I hope MHC/TWK does not finish bottom :( Glad to see MHC/TWK there, getting experience from MB/CM and Kido.

Maybe only three confirmed pairs, maybe they will have a scratch partnership of somethingor possible Jonas and Mads.:) I notice there is no WD, it's not a big loss, (let's face it:))

Yes, by looking at the list of players,.........LDR dont stand a chance for at least a win here ! based on his latest performances !

Copenhagen Masters certainly has lost his charm, I recall this event was once upon a time quite an exciting event with high caliber player attended ... I think there are just way too many tournaments going on within a year and top notch players chose to rest at the end of the year?

Ludikova is Czech no 1 and also quite good among European players, her level probably same with Nedelcheva, Konon, Yao Jie, Meulendijks but still below Baun, Hongyan, Diehl or Schenk..........:)

I think it's still decent field esp in WS and XD............all 4 pairs in xd are recent or former top 5 rank..........

LOL, MHC/TWK only plays one match probably, because they are up against MB/CM in the SF immediately. This is disappointing...

Wonder if Liew Daren can beat Dicky again and if WCH can win a match.

Yup, hectic schedule automatically forces most of top-names (except home players) to skip this invitational tourney.

I think Laybourn would probably not play in this year's Copenhagen Masters as i have read something about his new and serious injury in his leg which might be career-threatening and need immediate attention.
That's such a weird situation for the XD team of Denmark, as only after a short time after Joachim's recovery from injury, another pair have to stop playing...Maybe the male players are just too old?

And also, if Laybourn does need to stop playing for some months like the situation of Joachim earlier this year, I am wondering Kamila Rytter Juhl would start concentrating on her WD again, but this time with Christinna Pedersen (they said in Denmark Open that they play WD is due to interest and just a try), as her former partner Lena Frier has suddenly announced her retirement.

On the other hand, regarding the issue of the sudden retirement of Lena Frier, I think Lena's decision to leave the field does relate to her dissolve of partnership with Kamila since the return of Laybourn and problem of communicating , with her current partner Marie Ropeke..But that's just my guessing.. It's such a great pity to lose a good European doubles player.
