LEE HYO JUNG CALLS IT QUIT

    http://www.badzine.net/news/newsflash/lee-hyo-jung-calls-it-quit/10043/

A very sad news for the Badminton world, and mostly the Korean Team, relying now only on Kim Min Jung and Ha Jung Eun, the current's best double player.

I will really miss Lee Hyo Jung, she's been very committed to the game and a wonderful senior inside the Korean team. She proved to be someone even if Lee Yong Dae was not partnering her, she tookhelped Shin Baek Cheol to increase his abilities, physically and mentally. I was overwhelmed by her way of playing during last Uber Cup and this week Asian Games, very motivated, whole-heartedly giving her very best, nothing less than really inspiring.
I will definitely miss this very funny and nice girl now that she won't be around ..

Despite her inconsistent plays in crucial matches, she's had a nice career, and a fitting ending. She'll be missed & best wishes for her future endeavors..

A mainstay of the Korean team and major contributor in bringing her country glory. She always came across as the "other" player in her doubles partnerships (LKW in WD and LYD in XD) but somehow achieved success. However, this year she starred as the senior player with youngsters in winning the Uber Cup and the XD gold at the Asian Games. I think she's been underestimated and Korea will miss her sorely. A gentle giant, nice lady with the easy smile, she's one athlete who'll be going out on top.

    I wish her the best

This is dissapointing news, she is a very good XD and WD player, and her experience and guidence I am sure will be missed by the KOR team. I think the team will bring her back as a mentor/coach for the younger players (Maybe for the Juniors Nationals) as there is a lot or respect for her, (she is an Olympic Gold medalist remember)

Good luck to her with her studies and whatever she goes on to do. :)

All the best to her and her future :)
I hope she coaches the Korean team though as her experience can guide the more junior players.

Happy ending by Lee Hyo-jung to close her badminton career with Asian Games Gold medal. I thought she will wait London Games to announce her retirement, quite surprising news. Good luck to Hyo-jung for next chapter of her life :)

I've always been a critic of LHJ for her silly mistakes that caused LYD dear. I think 2010 has been a good year for her, perhaps LYD had taken some shine off her game. LHJ chose a great time to retire, both personally and for KOR. There are a good number of maturing players and her departure will make room for them in time for OG2012. For that, I totally salute the AG2010 & OG2008 champion.

I agree with you 100% in everything you said! =) Her play in Uber cup was especially inspiring for me too. It was a historical moment, as well as tear-evoking moment for me when she was giving her best and winning against WR #1 doubles player with a scratch pair partner (KMJ and LHJ haven't played that much together at that time, if I remember correctly)

I know! I would love it if she comes back as a coach! maybe in XD, coaching her former partners? lol

Oh, I wish I knew who her life partner is..He's one lucky man! =)

Me, too! My favorite doubles player with LYD!

She was also part of Sudirman Cup team when they won in 2003. She has won the AE as well in 2008. I read that she's the only other Korean doubles player to achieve all these gold medals that other than KDM... She is definitely most successful korea doubles female badminton player in history. =)

She does have inconsistent plays/mistakes in some matches but actually I think she plays better in crucial matches as seen in those OG, AG, UC final games.

Well, everybody has good and bad days. I don't think it's that necessary to make nicknames like that when nobody can be perfect everyday. Maybe your nickname for her highlights how good she can be, so it contrasts when she makes some mistakes. But in my opinion, every player is like that to certain degree...

But it's just me, I'm just a bit sensitive around these nickname stuff...it's just my opinion...I just wanted to throw it out there as my 2 cents...I'll erase this comment if some people find it offensive...no offense intended..
