go for high tension like 28 lbs, the shuttle won't go out baseline

 

This is one vague question that will lead to millions of answers drew. If i will to follow the above examples of tension, i can't play my normal offensive style of play since i strung all my rackets anywhere from 30 - 33 lbs. However, my stringing spec. also doesn't necessarily fits well with your style of play either because the "comfort zone" of your stringing spec. will always be unique only for you. If you stated your current tension maybe its more practical to guide, and since you stated that you're a "powerful player", i will just assume you are an offensive type of player. Whatever stringing spec, you have now, if its still doesn't blend with your style of play, just add anywhere 1-2 lbs higher ( X + 1/2 lbs, where x = your current tension) and give it a try.

 

If u are a powerful player, use bg-65 then

 

So you want a bit more power over your current strings.
Go with the tension that your using for the BG65ti, just understand that they won't last as long.

You'll have to balance the extra power with the extra stringing costs. If you think it's not worth it then think about stepping to something in between like BG80's.

It'll also be worth monitoring where your breaking strings. If it's away from the sweet spot then you'll probably be better off with a thicker gauge string until you can eliminate mis-hits.

 

i think bg80, bg85 or bg70pro will be more durable at high tension compare to bg66. i myself is using bg80 and i never want to change back to bg66 again as it last longer and giving better feels too.

 

Not necessarily drew. Lots of people can say anything but it's you at the end that need to identify your own ideal string type and tension spec. I'm a die hard BG 66 user since in the 80's until now and no doubt strung at > 30lbs with an offensive style of play, it wont last long with me ( ~ 1 week ). However, i'm happy and satisfied with it.

 

I'm the opposite. BG-66 to BG-80 then back to BG-66. But now I use zymax 62. I like thinner strings

I dont know..
I find BG66 at 23-24 lbs unbreakable..
Been trying to break it for a few weeks now because i wanted to string it to a higher tension like my other racket..
Any advice?

 

Sorry for double post..
I did not find any wear and tear on the strings(eg. small fibrin threads comming out of the strings)
Is my contact point wrong??
Or isit another problem..
please advice :O

 

if your strings aren't snapping, be happy cuz you're saving money.
