when only 3 foreign players in ms and ws
there is some exciting match in the md

    1st,highly anticipated:lee/jung vs cai/fu
lee/jung beat cai/fu twice within a week in asian games
the head to head is now 6-6
will lee/jung get their 3rd victory in 1 month or cai/fu manage to get revenge?
    my bet:3 sets to korea

    2nd,for malaysia fans:koo/tan vs yoo/ko
    ko/yoo have 2-0 record against koo/tan
can the 1st md of mas beat the 1st md of korea(wr 5,lee/jung wr 7)
my bet:2 set to malaysia or 3 set to korea

    3rd,who is the 2nd for china?guo/xu or chai/zhang?
chai/zhang is 3 rung above guo/xu while guo/xu have a 1-0 advantage in head to head
    my bet:guo/xu

    what's your opinion?

if cai/fu loose again in straight sets. A big sign that they will be retiring. ;) The koreans would like to have a chance to nail it in the coffin on their home ground. ;)

2nd. Korea looks good also. 50-50.

    3rd, I don't care... ;) lol.

feel sad for badminton... even sad for badminton central...

... apparently in BC, there are loads of MAS fans, loads of KOR fans, loads of THA fans, loads of INA fans... but not many badminton fans...:confused:

the world really need to catch up... China could have so many good quality 2nd and 3rd tiers coming up... could not see such a dominance in singles' QFs by local players in other countries' SS, such as KOR, MAS, INA and DEN SSs...

i guess there is no XD fan in Malaysia also.. mostly just looking at the same old Koo and Tan for any winning hope.

i'm so thrill GLY/CPS made it to quarter final.. really good achievement for this young pair, beat the seeded taiwan pair in first round. beat another taiwan pair in the second round. will meet sudket and saralee tomorrow. it's a tough game, but who knows... they might pull a surprise. all the best GLY/CPS!!!

i'm amazed with the way GLY play during CWG. i like to think malaysia has found the indonesia equivalent of Liliyana Natsir in GLY. Only time will tell.

agree. people need to look beyond the color of the flag and cherish badminton for the awesome game that it is.

    very sad situation indeed.

Well, badminton is between tennis and football on that regard. In tennis people do not care much about the players' nationalities, and in football people are crazy about flags. For me I like the mixture of both in badminton, there are individualities but it is nice also to have the competition between the countries, it add some spice.

The five matches announced on the main location are great, the WS with Inthanon -JYJ and WSX - BaeYJ, the MD of course with the revenge of Cai-Yun, and the clash of the juniors with JOG - Du. Thanks for the organization of the Open, they gave us the best of the day.

    you are missing his point.

his point is that if you are a true badminton fan, you will be interested in watching badminton regardless of what flag the player is wearing.

but not every match are great match
    right?
    for example
when i go tournament,i always print the schedule
i will choose the period where the match is not that great and go and have lunch or dinner(i mean in the 1st and 2nd round)
and watching four courts from morning to night is quite taxing
aren't it is more reasonable where people choose which match he/she prefer to watch instead of watch all those badminton matches?

I think a lot of fans tend to be resemble football fans, hero worship , marketing, hype etc but dont really understand the intricacies of the game.

They seem to think players must win all the time, they have limitless energy and can play like demons if they are cheered on etc.etc. but what they fail

to understand is that egging on players may actually confuse them and digress from their set strategy. Then they start accusing players of playing to

the crowd when they lose! The top 4 pairs in MD is so competitive, one pair can win only by a razor edge.I think badminton is all about

concentration and focus on a mission and players should not to be distracted.

No wonder players have so much pressure.

Badminton fans like football fans tend to be very partisan that even though they have an inferior team, they still expect to win by force.

Many people watch badminton and admire players for their sheer genius and wizardry, quite a rare breed.

Look at how Cai Yu and Fu and Guo and Xu turned out to be worms in the Asiad individuals when they shone like dragons in the teams.

If they were players of the fanatic countries they would have been barbequed for not trying.

Matches with players from the same nation can be a bit boring because they tend to play with a certain similar style and strategy,

matches between 2 different nations can be a bit more interesting in that both teams ave different coaches and have different playing styles

and strategies and have not trained together and do not know each other's game, making the outcome more exciting.

That may explain why few are interested in same country matches.
