i think it's a mind game for both the players (Chen Jin & LinD) to keep their confidence level and the records so far against LCW, and if possible to distract the consistency from the mental level of the opponent lor. Meanswhile also to promote Zhen Long and has him to gain more experience in the international tournament especially if he able to enter to the final which most slightly will meet LCW.

make sure they really have a reasonable excuse about their walk over, otherwise it will be not fair to the audience who have fly there all the way just to support them and hope to enjoy a exciting badminton that proof for their ticket value.

by no means to offence, by doing so to withdraw from the game for both the top rank player like Lin D & Chen Jin really doesn't sounds good and may more or less affected their reputation...

Explaining why the walkover was given

    .
Flu, or no flu; Tournament referee or organisers should explain to the audience at the venue why the walkover was given (at the scheduled match time).

Better still, if the sick players are not too sick to walk and talk, the players themselves should be at the venue to apologise.

It's simple LYB wants Chen Long to get a practise match against LCW, so Chen Jin and Lin Dan has to WO so that LCW could reach the final :D
