hi guys i just started looking around for some raquet info after being out of the game for 20 years(since high school) and found this place. played this week and feel like getting back into it maybe once a week. so i need help since i assume racquets have changed since i last played. i was looking at spending about 100$-150$ (eyeing the yonex armortech 50) since i can get it locally and within budget. i am fairly athletic with decent swing speed and smash but always preferred a nice tough and control game . can any of u recommend a racquets/tension that might be better cost/performance than the armortech and maybe a good place to purchase 1.(ebay looked a bit risky not knowing how well to spot fakes) any manufacturer is fine and used is fine too if somebody is trying to get ride of something. thanks for your time cory
http://www.mjstrings.ca/v1/ http://www.maxsports.ca/store/ Here some stores in Ontario. http://stores.ebay.com/rkepracketexpert Squashmart is good for ebay purchases. Since it's almost xmas lots of places have specials so check them out. As for rackets, do you play singles or doubles?
This should help you in a big way. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...2-Guide-How-to-Spot-Counterfeit-Yonex-Rackets
You could try the Panda Power Trinity2 or the Precision. Both are suitable for players looking for subtle touch and control. If you have the power and like a stiffer racquet, you can try the Ultra Pro. The Panda Power racquets are also available through MJ Strings. To read up more on these, check out this thread: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...-A-Racket-That-Can-Take-40lbs.-String-Tension!
ok i have been reading this site and shopping around and there are alot of things to think about hehe. what string tension i should get for overall balance feel/power and maybe one of two strings choices i should look for. cory
BG-80 at 22lbs, or bg-65 at 24lbs. Tension is personal preference so those are just a starting point, you can increase or decrease as you feel your not getting enough power or control.
