Grip's do not give power, but yes, the feel of the grip does matter.... If a grip is too thin for you, then try using towel grips. If towel grips are not your thing.... then what sort of a feel do you want? [i.e smooth, tacky, dry etc.] And do your hands sweat a lot?

I've always used super grap prior to rkep. The rkep g9 is easily 5x tackier for 4x longer, all for 1/3rd the cost! So it's a no brainer for me.
i have tried both. the G9 seems to be too tacky initially. need to spend more time with it to see how it is longer term. the G10 is perfect tackiness when new.
I find the karakal grip is quite tacky and lasts a good bit of time, however once it starts deteriorating it does so quite quickly. Anyone willing to sell me a single rkep g9/g10 grip for me to test out??? Mr.What07 care to bring one to our Canada East get together?
I think it's your friend's dried sweat that you were smelling. New grips have a pleasant chemical-lish smell. Like a new car 8 out of 10 of my friends use karakal including me. Best bang for buck imho.
Wilson grips give me 50% more power and 30% better feel. Yonex grips give me 30% more power and 50% better feel. lol kidding. I wish grips would give me more power though.
Indirectly, good tacky grips do give some power. By allowing you to use a looser grip, hence more relaxed forearms muscles, which is necessary for efficient stroke and power generation. However, it can't be too tacky, or else changing grip on the fly becomes more difficult.
