    Question The bottom of my feet keep hurting every time i play singles

    When I play singles the bottom of my feet start to hurt. My guess is from the traction because it feels like it's on fire. Do i need to get insoles or difference shoes or maybe it's the socks ?
    I have no clue right now but i can't play more then 3 sets because of the foot. I do play anyways with the pain because i like playing but i wonder if i can get this pain away ?
    If i need to change shoes what shoes?
    If I need to get insoles could you suggest one?
    If you know what is causing the pain tell me how to get rid of it?

    Could be a serious problem.

    Do turn up at a coaching session and tell/show the coach(es) your problem, before it gets any worse.

    If it's in the heels, ie on the outside, then you may have plantar fasciitis. It's a common problem amongst badminton, basketball players as well as runners.

    If this is indeed the case, getting gel insoles, or arch insoles will cure the problem. Also, if you've been wearing the sames shoes for more than 6 months and you play more than 4 times a week, I would recommend changing your shoes.

    no it's not the heels of my feet
    It is the bottom of my feet towards the heel.
    I don't know what the parts are called but umm it is middle and above to the toes hurt

    if after changing shoes or insole, problem still persist

    it could be your footwork or your legs muscle

    Umm I get training for footwork so i don't think it's the footwork
    I really think it's my shoes or insoles
    but could you recommend anything ?

    mizuno... Tornade 3 ?
    I have no clue but it is Volleyball court shoes ...
    It doesn't feel that bad but when i play with it, it hurts ...

    is your foot moving inside the shoe slightly? try thicker socks or two pairs, or smaller shoes..

    I think it moves around a little because I have wide but short fee.
    So to match the width of my feet i have to have half or a size bigger than my foot
    I don't know is there a brand that has bigger width ?
    The yonex i have tried almost broke my pinky toe

    This still does sound like plantar fasciitis to me...however after the game do you have a tenderness to the point that it almost hurts to walk?

    shoes or insoles
    if you have not change your shoes, try new insole first.

    if you really think its the shoe then look for a better one like yonex, lining or mizuno.

    if you have 'wide' feet i think you feel better wearing mizuno, they are good shoes really.

    but before you change anything you should treat the pain first,

    see a doctor then take some rest.

    as i said earlier if problem still persist, it could be your footwork too heavy.

    if you have a coach ask him how do you move in the court,

    are you light or flat footed?

    if no coach, ask your buddy to help or even video yourself.

    we can do 2 to 10min footwork everyday does not mean you have a good one

    its how you react when you are caught 'off footed'.

    let me share a true experience some 15 years ago when i was still running a pro shop

    a guy complains of pain at the bottom and sometime near the heel everytime he plays baddy.

    so when he first came to my shop i asked him several questions and

    here are the answers:

    1/ i have seen many doctors and gone through many treatments including chinese doctor, western doctor, acupuncture, x ray, many therapies, massages chinese, indian ... the last one was using a hot brick heated with salted vegetable, a traditional cure.

    2/ the longest rest after treatment was one month. previously from couple of days to three weeks.

    3/ for insoles, he has all even has a few custom made ones.

    4/ shoes? he has purchased all baddy shoes in the market such as bata, dragonfly, topline, diadora, adidas, reebok, carlton, dunlop, mizuno, ascis, nike, yonex ....

    i was speechless after that and decided to see how he play ...

    after seeing him run all over the court even with god-made shoes he will still have the same pain. lol

    he was flat footed!

    he took my advise finally skipping and some lower leg muscle exercises.

    I will try some insoles and if it doesn't work I will try the shoes
    If all that doesn't work I believe it could be my foot work
    I don't think there is anything wrong with it but i am a little heavy 185 pounds 5'9"
    So i think it could possibly be my footwork but umm sorry for saying it wrong at the top reply I meant the front sole of the feet not the heel.
    My heel did hurt but after i got footwork training it went away but the front sold of my feet still feels like it's burning

    for your weight 185lbs and your height, you should work on your lower leg muscle:

    calf (gastrocnemius & soleus) & shin (tibialis anterior).

    Because you are a slightly larger guy, you're putting a lot more weight on your feet, so I agree with pbm...the stress you're putting on your plantar fasciia band will easily be solved by these excercises...good luck
