I strung my MX80 with NBG98 25lbs it does feel pretty weirld. It just feels different from my VT80 strung with NBG 95 @ 24lbs. Anyone know why?

higher tension on the mx80, also the mx80 has 80 holes that make it feel stiffer, also the middle strings on the mx80 are 2lbs higher than the rest of the racquet. Also the weight distribution is different in the racquets. just my 2p

Is yours a 3U or 4U, and will you be using it for doubles? Curious, what's your current racket because I want to see if I'm the only one who took a while to adjust. (I moved from Nanospeed 9000X --> MX-80)

Madbad, don't worry... I think there's space for BOTH a 3U AND a 4U MX70 in our September order! . I'm sure you'll adapt to one of those in no time!

Visor, you're a vey bad guy!

But I think I am finally getting consistency out of the MX-80

Hehe! But give yourself some time to adjust to the different timing and swing speed. It took me something like 2-3 months of 4h/wk playing before it finally clicked. Also make sure you exploit it's strengths, which is precision and power in drives and flat exchanges. Challenge yourself to aim just above the tape and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I consider myself a very average doubles player, especially in the forecourt as playing singles has rendered me very lazy as far as racket readiness is concerned. I still have to force myself to prepare for the faster aspects of doubles play such as flat exchanges. So for me, one thing at a time as I continue to get comfy with the MX80.

I joined the MX80 (3UG2) club now. Thanks to wongor for everything. I'm happy to deal with you.
Strung it yesterday with BG66 Ultimax @ 25 lbs. The first impression is that it is very close to my BS10 and the tension feels a bit higher. Today I will try it at a session with some friends. A review will follow. The benchmark is my faithful and loved SW35 (greets to LD rules! ). It will be hard for the MX80 to beat it.

Question for you MX80 users: when you get your racket strung, do you get your stringer to do the single string Haribito pattern as recommended by Victor for this 80 hole racket, or does your stringer go with what he is used to, either regular 2 string or regular 1 string? I'm just wondering whether it matters much...

I use the recommended Victor method for no other reason other than I don't know any better

Anyone notice JJS was using the MX80 in the world champs?

Thanks, but the usual stringer that I use seems to think that the Victor recommended pattern is too difficult, and he says he's more comfortable with his usual standard one piece, so I didn't press the issue...I'm just wondering how much of a difference in play...

Oh yeah, I already posted that 2 pages ago... And that's perhaps why his smashes were not that powerful against Fu/Cai.

Standard stringing pattern for me too. I wouldn't be good enough to know any different. String racket, play

Yeah, when you lose, it's the rackets fault, but when you win, it's clearly superior talent.
