sounds like we need a A/B comparison... give me a couple of weeks so i can break the strings, ok?

so getting absolutely 29lbs in vs850 is meaningless in some way. what is important is that when i dial in 29lbs on my machine, and let the string slack over time, i like the feeling that came out of it. yes, in reality that may have already slacked to 27/25/23/20 lbs. but that's really not important anymore. what is important is that i like the end product while i dial in 29lbs in the machine.
I read kwun advice and I changed my mind from trying to use BG66 ultimax for my MX80 to VS850 (@26lbs)

I love the feel of VS850, but they really need to do something about the tension retention.

Mine started at 26lbs but I reckon it's stabilised now down at about 23-24.

God, my brother is so annoying. Hate playing doubles with him, everytime I play with him, he puts a big chip in my MX80! :-( so many chips. All those photos of not chipped racquets make me sad! :-(

Yah, that's why I'll be stringing it at 2-3 lbs higher than my usual and then allow it to settle and stabilize into my playing tension. How long did it take for the tension to stabilize? Few days? A week?

Well, I bought it on the 10th of May, and I reckon it dropped a bit, stabilised, and then dropped a bit more, only to fully settle maybe 3-4 weeks ago? I play roughly 20 sets a week / 6 hours, so it takes quite a while. I suspect this string is not the best for intermediate tensions, but I like the feel so much I'm willing to put up with it.

You mean the string has not broken since the 10th of May? That's 3 months now; surely the tension is shot. Sorry, can't be bothered to check back but what string was it?
