beware players ......
Hi, I'm new here.Someone I know e-mailed me this, I want to share this to evryone who plays, btw, I edited the names so as to protect their identities:
Hi!
Just want to share an unforgettable experience last night in badminton..
I have a reservation at Shuttle Power in Pasig with address at 14-B
Sandoval Ave., Pingbuhatan Pasig City at 8-10PM last night. I was with
Ms.X and Mr. X with her girlfriend but the two of them
left at 9:15 PM. We continued playing to consume our reserved slot. At
about 9:40PM three men entered the court posing to be players but after
2 minutes two of them announced the hold-up with .45 pistols and
immediately collect all the bags around and ask everybody to lie down on
the floor. the incident take only several minutes maybe 5 minutes or
less. Almost all the courts are fully occupied at that time. The owner,
Ms.X lost more than P50k on that
incident consisting of the courts sales since Thursday Aug,28. The
amount should have have been deposited yesterday but he was unable to do
it due to other tasks. She lost everything in her bag including credit
card!
s, car keys, ATM cards, cell phone and other personal belongings. I
myself lost lost my BPI backpack with my drivers licence, car keys, home
keys, wallet, PNB VISA, ATM cards, 3 cell phones, cross pen my office
clothes and the like.Ms.X on the otherhand lost her cellphone shoes
and clothes on her backpack. All the other players lost their bags, car
keys and other personal belongings. Please take extra care in choosing
your courts coz it seems badminton courts are also potential targets of
these unlawful elements. One of the men even fired a shot on their way
out. We are just thankful that no one was hurt in the incident. Pasig
police and barangay tanods responded right away but nobody was arrested
as of these writing.

that is a scary incident. sorry to hear that. but let's console ourselves and be happy that no one was hurt.
perhaps this incident plus the thread on gym theft, badminton players should be bringing only the minimal amount of cash + valuable to the gym.

One of our gyms here which I am a member of requires everyone to use a membership pre-paid card. What you do is that you just load money into your account for example, and whenever you go to that gym to play, buy food at their restobar, etc., all you need to present is your card and you dont need to bring cash. This is a good idea to discourage the robbers since they can't get that much cash, just a bunch of plastic cards.

average court rates in metro manila, around P200.00 per hour (plus guest fee, if you're not a member)
i'm looking for sunday playmates (i got a regular group during saturdays), and want to play with a different set of players. i live in the makati area.
hey, graphite, just in case i'm going to spend my december holidays at CDO, would you be interested in playing?

I have not played in Green Valley yet, will give it a try this weekend since I will be going up there. According to the lady i spoke on the phone, their rates is P125/hr w/o light; P250/hr w/ lights.
Yes, the rates here in MetroManila average out to be P200/hr.
