hi all! i learned the correct way to grip the racket about 4 months ago...and during the holidays ( oct - nov )i played 3-4 times a week...and in result my finger seem to had a bump (at the ring and index finger ) it don't hurt but is irritating ...and around the nail of my the ring and index finger will seem to hurt ( like getting squzzed too long) ...why does this happen?
must be your freaking grip too hard. Just hold it firm will do. If, its loose, your accuracy is gone. Blisters and pain is normal. You'll get the hang to it.
post some pictures on how you hold it and also where your pain is should help. I hope you are not following LD style...lol. Asking for trouble.
haha no laa lin dan style i don't dare use xD! my grip is RSL hi com grip i think used for about 2monhts still looks and feels ok....does the size of the grip matter? my hand is ...er...medium -- big and my i have 2 badminton grip 1 his G5 ( ithink smallest size of grip) and the other is a G5 but wrap with a veryyy fat grip both oso same grip....so should i change to a smaller grip a? what grip good a ?
lol not that baddd ! it's just a bump on the skin and a little pain ...applied yellow solution last week and is better now...~ i think i gonna change 2 karakal pu =)
i think it might be the size of the grip, or the actual grip itself. Some people don't like grooves or ridges, and prefer smooth grip. Some people the other way. Factor in the size of the grip that they need as well. Good luck!
ever considered that this might have nothing to do with badminton? sounds a little bit like an inflamed nail by your discription. H.
well..i m pretty sure it's badminton....since...well it never happened before and my grip is a little torn....~ anyways....is there any good grip that has rideges smooth and thick?
do you grip the the handle 'hard' ? even before you strike the bird? you are not suppose to do that, it should be loose while anticipating the next shot and as you strike the bird, you strike with a firm grip. if you play more than you often play all of a certain, you are bound to get something like this. as for me, there are a lot of dead skin, round patch all over my palm
well....i don;t think i hold the grip tightly...i hold it rather loose since it's the first thing i learnt at BC ~ i would say it's the grip's prob...
Theres a thread(old...really old) on holding your racket using your pinky and maybe ring finger. Try it out its really good. I started off with it tho, never knew other people had used it before... That way you can use half a grip like lin dan ...well thats what i do
http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...-finger-power-revisited.?highlight=pinky+grip here you go its 4-5 years old. Kwun explained it very well comepared to me LOL
Try using softer and smoother overgrips . My first thought is that your overgrip (the wrap of your handle) is too rough for you. Try using softer and smoother overgrips. .
