so i was using my Z-Slash the other day it's just a month old and when i came home and took a look at it, i realized that there was a paint chip on the top part on cone of the racket (the part where the shaft meets the cone). I tried applying pressure to it, and multiple crack lines appear on the edge of the cone. I am wondering if i could get a warranty claim on it since it's basically brand new.

that was normal. this is too, a bit. i suggest you try to warranty. i think its all a part of the racket flexing. of course, if you tried applying pressure, more damage could occur.

but if its more etreme that what i believe, then chances are a warranty claim is needed.

does it make clicking or creaking noises when you flex the racket?

close up pics would definitely help

no noises is a good sign that it's not structural damage, perhaps it's just cosmetic

reading your post again, where are the crack lines again? on the shaft or the cone?

That looks purely cosmetic. Only paint peeling off.

    Shouldn't happen though.

I'm guessing that you got the Singapore or Taiwan version?

Blame Yonex for using crappy but pretty paint. I've had two JP's and they both got this. I think it's normal for this to happen.

If the cone clicks when you swing the racquet or bend the shaft, it also just means that the glue between the cone and the handle is weak..

Being only a few months old, I would fight hard to get a warranty replacement.

However, you may want to consider that the Z may be too flexible for your arm strength as this type of peeling would seem to indicate. You may want to trade up to something stiffer.

That is nothing to worry about. The tiny hairline cracks and paint cracks are normal for any coded racket (I have CD and JP rackets for those who do not know me) - this does not affect racket's performance. For me, I have an overgrap layered up to the cap anyways so I will not see it.

It will be a problem if the actual cap was actually cracking itself opening and falling apart then, it would be a defect and covered under warranty. Other than that, there is no problems with your racket.

Racket warranty is is months however it can be up to a year (not written in stone).

Just curious, where did you purchase your racket from?
