I bought a machine that only included Tennis fixed clamps and was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good fixed clamp to buy. thanks!
fixed clamp has to come from manufacture. You have to call them if they would sell you one. Eagnas has fixed clamp for badminton, but they wouldn't know if it would fit your machine, and don't ask, it would get the guy mad. You could buy one at your own risk. But tennis fixed clamp would work for main string in badminton. They are too wide for cross. You just need to get one fly clamp for cross.
What brand machine? I agree with Tim 1456, You could use Flying clamps for the crosses. Badminton fixed clamps can be expensive for some machines.
i have a pro's pro pilot the reason why i want a fixed clamp is because i feel like the flying clamps dont hold enough tension on the first string for the cross. for the main, at the moment, i am using the tennis clamp and its fine but it's just when i get to the crosses that i feel like it loses lots of tension
Pro's Pro are made by the same company that make Eagnas. The PN-1013 would fit, but just to make sure you should measure the post on your machine are 12.00mm. They are about $40 each plus shipping. Here is picture below.
I use the dual clamps from Watdon. For a few extra $$$ works better than the badminton specific clamps. I believe a few other stringers here with similar machine (Eagnas/Alpha/Pros Pro) use the same clamps. http://www.watdon.co.uk/wd-strings/
They do look nice and very similar to the clamps on the Prince Neos 1500. What was the total cost plus shipping to the US? I'm not current with GBP to USD conversions.
I ordered mine last April and total with shipping for a pair was 52 GBP = 83 USD at today's currency exchange rate. Not bad, considering I paid $40 + shipping for 1 Eagnas PN1013... and the dual clamps are much better.
i dont mind spending the money as long as it is good i was actually looking more for one that has around 10 teeth something like this one anyone know much about it? Gamma Slim Profile Comp Metal Fixed Clamp
I've never used them but I do have the standard metal Gamma clamps that came with my 6004. I think those are made of plastic. You can call Brett at Gamma to find out more. If you have the cone-lock base clamps, they may not fit, the tolerances are very close so it may be a tight fit.
That sounds like a good deal. I think I know someone in England who is coming back soon. I might ask them to pick me up a pair.
I bought from Watdon as well .... it is WA3342 : http://www.watdon.co.uk/wd-strings/Machine_Spares.htm
Hi Go for watdon's WA3342 or arfaian.com same clamp catalog number T025 (http://www.arfaian.com/default.asp?ArtNr=1417). Examine for sharp edges before the first use. Do not use that 3-tooth crap. Regards, Valentinas
I'm curious to see the spacing on the dual clamps (WA4432). 3 Tooth clamps are tennis clamps. Badminton patterns are too tight to use Eagnas/Babolat style 3-tooth clamps. A starting clamp should be in every stringers tool kit. It has many uses and comes in handy.
buy and you will feel it ..... Victor specific badminton stringing machine using similar to WA3342 (dual clamp)
SPTennis.com was closing out on their stock of stringing tools. They might have a few other things you may want to check out. Eagnas is another supplier in North America, and Gamma. As for using it: http://www.eagnas.com/maxgen1/pp600.html#pp600op
Gamma (ATS Sports) starting clamps, are by far the weakest Starting Clamps made and cost twice as much as a Eagnas Starting Clamp. When I got my Starting Clamp from Eagnas (Maxline), it was in a Pro's Pro packaging.
