So, I've heard some rumours of a new badminton club here, with 22 courts...
    supposedly opening in Apr 2011.

Anyone know more about this place?

Oh God, is there even enough market for all these clubs to thrive?! And with most of them concentrated in Richmond, I see closure for them in the near future.

No complaints from a consumer like me. The more choices and competition, the better. :)

Just like restaurants, Richmond probably has the most chinese restaurants per capita in North America!

#6 and Bridgeport? That's different, location I guess kinda makes sense being the warehouse district and all... It is kinda away from all the other badminton places if it is opening there... Close to knight street bridge I guess....

I just don't think the badminton scene is big enough to have the need of another badminton centre

I don't mind competition, prob drive some court prices down :D

    actually, you will be surprised.

when we only had around 3-4 gyms here in the bay area, we thought it was too many and they won't survive because the badminton playing population won't be able to support it.

now we have 15, and they are still there and most of them are quite crowded.

GVA has much higher % of Asians and i think there will be enough to sustain more clubs. once there is court vacancy and the word about badminton clubs spread, people will show up.

Went there last time and it was just a regular gym floor

Seemed like C1 was renting out the facility or something

Maybe I missed the "badminton dedicated" facility while I was there

Started a new thread not long ago about this, wondering if anyone knows more detail about C1-Cap U

I'm playing at Yumo everyone wed + sat now
