Or have you conveniently overlooked my original post above re 4U head light rackets? You can generate lots of speed with them, but the smashes won't be as fast because there is less mass.
Btw if F=ma as you state, then how is a difference in speed a greater effect than a proportional difference in mass. It is a directly linear relationship.

Why does understanding badminton equipment have to be so complex?
I'm sure the racket manufacturers/companies are having a jolly good time every year coming out with the newest improved rackets for us to buy!

- so what that tells you ?
- head heavy = bigger mass
- conclusion : head heavy racket does not always provide greater power or higher shuttle speed
- now it's only stiffness left to study

well, reality is not so straightforward
4u headlight rackets have great speed, but horribly slow smashes

Which probably means (most) humans can't swing it fast enough (or don't because it swings so easy already)

guys. have you guys missed the most important part of the F=ma equation?
it is not m, it is not a.
it is F. F means how much force YOU have.
when you have large F, then 1/2 mv^2 will be maximized.
*now back to regular scheduled programming....*

this means that i'll have to go and buy a whole bunch of rackets with various combinations of head heavy vs balanced, stiff vs. medium, power vs speed cross section!
only then will i know what will work best for me!
this is going to be an expensive hobby!
04-14-2011, 03:54 AM #63
lolz. Yeah, buying new rackets to try is such a burden!

@gendruw is an example of a big bomber with a medium stiff and even balanced rackets
he uses Carlton Power Blade 9902

based on your body measure, for me you are quite similar to Lin dan, , no joke.
