From another photo on the same site, you can discern that there is a faint Asics logo on Mogensen's shoe...not sure how Yonex allowed it to happen :P

Anyway, the VT80 seems cool and all, but I hope it isn't so heavy as to have deviated from the initial design principle of "power and fast handling in one package"; I certainly hope that it'll handle faster than its balance suggests.

It also costs only slightly more than the other upper mid range Yonex racquets such as the Arc8DX, NS7700 and the no longer produced AT700 new gen which it is supposed to dethrone and replace. With the VT80's extremely stiff shaft and short handle, it may be the next singles players' consideration for a powerful hitting smasher racquet.

On a side note the shoe that Boe is wearing isn't the SHBSC5WM JP seeing that it is of low cut and is missing the "stretch-handle" at the rear in contrast to the JP version:
Yes I noticed later on after I came around that pic as well and had a chance to check out the cut, already forgot there was an EX version coming out soon .
Camel of course follows the japanese market pricing, where the Voltrics are indeed relatively cheap. The international positioning is "slighty" different .

For months now already I believe as others have spotted. Maybe he has worked on shortening his swing ... In any case quite a few direct winners by him and "Z-Slash Adcock" .

Yes I thought I could make out a silverish Asics logo as well from one of the pics ...

(Then) you should check out the catalogue prices for these. VT70 is something like 21,000 and those other two 25-26,000 ... VT80 is ~23,000. AT900 and ARC10 are old models of course so would be expected the actual store price is lower nowadays compared to introduction?

Only 290mm?? Quite different from what you should expect from the chart ... incorrect info? Or just a standard number before the actual info is published? No Nanopreme mention?

Maybe you are right, VT70 description is quite the same on the website.

Now that I see the VT80 up close, it's actually quite a looker - that "tribal" relief design is a really interesting innovation. The VT80 puts me in mind of the 900T (but its anabolic charateristics would suggest otherwise).

Ah, yes - the greatest motivator.

Yonex can easily paint an "old" racquet like a new one, that makes both the player and the marketing department happy

The flash intro for the VT80 on the Yonex JP site specifies the shaft as High Modulus Graphite+Nanopreme. I believe someone does possess incorrect information, such info which even led to a certain Voltric 9DX sometime ago

So, will you guys say that the VT 80 would be somewhat similar to the armortec 700?
