    :D good idea pBm:D

Let us know when you've started your own forum.

Alternate forums cater for a diversity of perpectives. Creating your own will definitely be successful for you. ;)

Given limited capability for members, I wish you every success for your formula :) Always good to know a free thinker's ideas.

Why not outsource the Chit-Chat section of this forum to PBM? Might be an interesting experiment. :)

    Would serve no purpose ;)

Surprisingly, there seems not many replies to this particular thread. I'll move it to the forum feedback section which seems more appropriate. We wouldn't want forum trolls to continue their innuendos.:D:);) even though they try to hide behind the smilies :):).

    Definitely not every ride :D

So far, bc software is good..or maybe because its the number of moderator thats keeping it running well :)

Also the spam firewall works great I heard, until now haven't seen any 'live' spam :)

Hahaha .... there are members reading though not much but none reply

Does it mean nobody wants to be bc moderator even if for a day or two :p lol

You know, you can then send an email to the particular banned members and say,

Welcome back I am your new mod and I will be watching you .....

And if any member gonna ask who this bc members I have in mind..ehmm

It's none other than cooler ....lol

To satisfy your moderator desires, just create your own "pBm forum".:) Don't see what's so difficult for you. :D ;) There aren't any restrictions on creating what your heart desires;)

No need to get BC involved at all. You start your own forum and you have complete control. But you know that already:):)

Thus, the question becomes why should you spend time on this forum??

Furthermore, don't bother speculating on other members in your threads - there really is no point to it;)

There are already a few forum on badminton started sometime ago and

it just can't pick up the traffic like bc :)

Actually a good question why I spent so much time here,

First it's a great baddy news centre - just anything you name it ..

Second a lot of funny and intelligent people to interact

Third a great place to share and learn new ideas and also going down memory lane..

But the most important thing I have learn while in bc is controlling oneselves while getting into a heated argument:D

almost everyday some of us will argue and debate over certain issues practically are not theirs in the first place lol

And most of us are paying so much attention to it hahaha..

now back to the thread's title, I thing cheung, you have mistaken me for wanting to be a real moderator

I think my intention was to find out how many of us here would want to be a moderator.. just for a day or two

I know those banned members would love to :D

If I was a Moderator for a day, I would slash some peoples number of posts.
It really annoys me when people post unhelpful information on a thread when somebody asks a genuine question. I have to check through loads of little useless posts to find out if anyone has answered the question before I reply.

OOH, I would install some sort of post rating system! Every post the thread starter can rate as 1 useless to 5 Very helpful. Then when people post their average post helpfulness would show up and that would help to know who is giving good information rather than trusting somebody who has 1000s of posts, but has said very little.

[edit] BTW, I would have no clue on how to make something to rate posts, I just think it's a very good idea.

Cheung, the first post comes in already :)

And andy05, I think what you mentioned about the post rating system could be the karma points.

It was implemented here in bc before but later stop,

you can read more here > http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php/12561-Karma-points?highlight=Karma

btw a lot of unwanted posts has been deleted,

it's just impossible for the mod to screen through so many of them we are all posting here :D

So it's advisable we members think and re read our post before posting,

once the quality of post is there, it generates more traffic

and we would have more informations to share and learn :)

Right now, the quality of bc is still good and those high rated nuisances have been banned :D

Can we have a "Ignore Thread" function where i can just click on it so that such thread will not be visible anymore.

    I don't think I've made a mistake at all:)

Besides, if people want to be on BC, they have to play by the rules. If you want different rules, then go to another forum. If there is no other forum, then create your own. If you worry about traffic, at least you will be king;) Your rules will dictate your success.

I think that is clear enough for you.:):)

As for banned members, I sure there are good reasons for them being banned. Why do you worry your little head over them?:)

Edit: Just to add, the forum is there for meaningful discussion and enjoyment. If a poster displays antisocial behaviour (i.e. being a jerk) or likes bait other members while claiming misunderstanding, it's highly probable they will come under moderator scrutiny.;)

You sound so serious, you must have read my mind I would like to break bc rule for a day or two

to bring those banned members back ... hahaha

You are great, even if I really want I really can't get through your 'firewall' ;)

and I suppose that's why kwun has appointed you as the mod :)

    Good work and don't worry it's just a dream :D :)

As for mentioning those banned members, it's not to tease them or whatever.

For me, I only want to understand at least for myself, why such members can't accept bc rules,

agree to disagree despite several warnings from the mod?

though some of them are intelligent beings

I certainly hope you don't ask me to ask them :D

    That Karma system failed then?
I wasn't a member when that was around.

I think only a positive karma system then?
Only the post starter (or moderator) can rate a post. They choose to rate it +1 or no rating. Then you get an overall rating, say mine would be 50% helpful, the other 50% could be negative/spam or an enquiry such as "What sort of racquet would you like? Head Heavy/light... Price?... Etc" This way all feedback is positive and newer members will get a chance to see who actually knows what they are talking about rather than who has spammed the boards and made millions of posts. Maybe only have this system active on certain boards such as equipment reviews/techniques/general as ChitChat would be hard to rate if somebody was helpful. This might lower the appearance of arguments in threads, and people might care enough about their rating to not try and hijack a thread.

I have to mention this - I have no idea what all these posts are about in this thread, but could they be deleted (the sort of argument ones).
