2011 Australia Badminton Open Grand Prix Gold

Entries of participating players are not finalised yet.

We have upgraded from previous years' Grand Prix status to Grand Prix Gold this year.

Last year (2010), the highest ranked player was Nguyen Tien Minh from Vietnam (World No.6 during the tournament).

This year, it is hoped to attract more higher ranked players to attend. :):):)

I don't like the fact that the Aus GPG as well as many other tournaments, have been brought forward this year. I was going to play an international event in early July, but it's been brought forward to May:(

It will be held at MSAC, but not in the Badminton Hall. They will be using the larger show court, the same place they held the thomas and uber cup Asian qualifiers in 2002.

The Australian Open this year clashed with Osaka International Challenge.

    Australian Open: 5-10 April
    Osaka International Challenge: 6-10 April

which will probably mean no team japan this year?

but its only an international challenge compared to a Grand Prix Gold event, so will see what the other teams think. maybe 3rd/4th stringers from korea/japan?

Oh who is our friend here playing international. It is great that you are in our midst, but we need to know your real name to support you all the way, just as we support JR for so long!

Mind letting us know who you are? :)

Sorry red_dragon. My PM inbox can get full again as soon as I delete some PMs. And I couldn't delete many PMs because there many questions (from my coaching trainees) still waiting for me to answer.

It is best to send an email to me. I hope your Badminton question only requires a short answer. :):):)
