I see a few threads in which people are looking for stringers and not wanting to go to store or clubs for the service. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a "stickied thread" or subject section where "at home" stringers can post their location so they can be "found" with a simple search within the thread. I don't think prices should be posted since prices change over time and we shouldn't be looking for an auction type postings. Simple location and email address or something in the stringer's post and the searcher can contact the stringer. Good idea? Bad idea?
That's a good idea. I'm in Covina, California. Though most of the players I know are from the Montrey Park area, about 15 miles away.
I know he is in a shop OCBC but Sattawat Pongnirat I think is one of the best stringers in So Cal. I saw him working with the string team at US Open. I saw him at USBDF stringing too and looked like his stringing technique has been more refined. Looked like he was dancing around the machine
I am in Davis, California but I also frequent Sacramento, Vacaville, and sometimes Dixon or Woodland.
Haha yes they do, but I prefer the local gyms here. I am friends with the local badminton club (I supply birdies) and as a student at UCD, I get free membership to the ARC (Activities and Recreation Center) which usually has open courts and plenty of good competition.
If local stringers will put their locations here, I can make up a spreadsheet organized into Country, State/Province, then City. Preferrably they need to provide at least their forum name here on BCDF, and then if possible, an email to contact as well
Canada, Alberta, Edmonton (Riverbend area) Currently have a silent partner crump (6 point) crank machine but have a wise 2086 on the way.
well, .... Kemaman, Malaysia is here. AEF 6-points with Wise2086 tensionhead. There are also here : - 1 shop with Yonex ES5 Protech, - 3 shops with similar to Victor badminton machine only
Hmmm, can't say that I remember seeing too many active guys on here from Calgary. I'm sure they're around, there is usually at least 1 per club even if he's just using a drop down machine.
