I hope Vita/Nadya will reject the invitations, and it will give chance to Suci/Della and Gebby/Tiara

Meanwhile, PBSI is trying hard (again) to convince Taufik for joining SEA Games squad (again).

PBSI is lazy if they want Taufik to play in Sea Games. They should instead find 1 or 2 MS players from their current young players whom they believe can play well in team event. This will be good for the future Thomas Cup squad.
For individual Men Single, I think SS and Hayom probably good enough if they are fit.
For team, they have SS, Hayom. If they want they can call Tommy to play and he should be strong 2nd or 3rd singles(for Sea Games level). If not, select Vito, Wisnu or whoever else.
4th single who probably will not play at all should be for a young player as well.

Taufik can not even lead against Derek Wong in the World Championship

I think PBSI should really use their young players in Sea Games

Sea Games will happen in the same time with HKG SS.
It will be disadvantage if INA best players skip this SS and lost opportunity for some OG qualification points.
Just my opinion (should be very different with what PBSI plan to do
)
MS: will LCW play in Sea Games?
INA can play SDK and Hayom, Tommy or Alamsyah can be option, even play 1 or 2 junior player
WS: will THA and SIN play their top WS players in Sea Games?
I can say INA has at least 4-6 WS players with same level.
Should the projection for OG (may be Firda and another one) still go to HKG and rest of them can play for Sea Games
MD: Kindra, Alvent/Hendra, and Bona/Ahsan are better to concentrate to secure 2 places for INA by playing in HKG.
at least 2 INA MD should be in the top 8 by May 2012 (right now, Kindra #6, Bona/Ahsan #7, Alvent/Hendra #8. But it is still not very secure as 2nd CHN MD is still out of top 8 before WC, consider also TPE pair and 2nd. JPN pair can be also threats).
For Sea Games, it is the time to burden Angga/Ryan and Yohanes/Afiat
WD: GreyMel and Vita/Nadya should really focus to finish on top 16 by middle of next year. Even, if they can reach #7 and #8 (INA will have 2 representatives in OG). So, focus on international tournament is better for them.
why not to play Anneke/Nitya, Suci/Dela, and Gebby/Tiara in Sea Games?
I think to challenge THA pairs and SIN pairs, three of them still have good opportunity for gold
XD: Chance for INA take 2 spot in OG depend much on how good Fran/Pia, Rijal/Debby play in next 10 months.
Assuming to give hope to Fran/Pia for OG, let's Rijal/Debby play for Sea Games.
Young XD pair (champion of Asian Junior) may be good option for INA.
Gold for XD Sea Games? of course, not easy for INA, if THA, SIN, and MAS best pair will play for Sea Games
Towi/Liliyana, play more for good draw in OG, and prevent other players to boost ranking, so that helping Fran/Pia enter top 8.

Badminton: PBSI Eyeing Team With SEA Games Gold on the Line
Ami Afriatni | August 17, 2011
After a disappointing end to the World Championships, the Indonesian Badminton Association is weighing its options to make sure of a strong squad at the Southeast Asian Games.
Indonesian shuttlers came home empty-handed from the Worlds once again, as they have since the country’s last world title in 2007. The best showing came from two semifinalists, Bona Septano and Mohammad Ahsan in men’s doubles and Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in mixed doubles.
The association, known as the PBSI, planned to announce the 10 men and 10 women for its SEA Games squad after the Worlds. Now, though, vice president I Gusti Made Oka said it would hold selection trials at its training camp in Cipayung, Jakarta, this weekend.
“We invited all the top shuttlers in the country, not only those who are in the national team right now,” Oka said on Wednesday.
“Hopefully we can announce the team early next week. We have to name the squad as soon as possible because the shuttlers will have to adjust their tournament calendars for the SEA Games.”

24 foreign TV channels to cover SEA Games
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Thu, 08/18/2011 6:53 PM
At least 24 TV stations of 10 ASEAN country members, excluding Indonesia, have confirmed their intention to cover the upcoming SEA Games 2011 in Palembang and Jakarta, from Nov. 11 to 22.
Indonesia SEA Games Organizing Committee (Inasoc) broadcast director Linda Wahyudi said Thursday in Jakarta that each contingent would be accompanied by at least a TV channel, with Thailand to send the most.
“Thailand will take eight channels, Channels 3, 5, 7, 9, 13, National Broadcasting Thai and Thai Cable,” Linda said during a meeting with the broadcasters.
She added Vietnam would bring five channels; the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore each three channels; and Brunei and guest participant Timor Leste one each.
At home, meanwhile, Linda said Inasoc are to broadcast 12 sports live every day, including soccer, badminton, volley ball, basket ball and boxing.
“This is common for a host country to do. The main media center will be concentrated in Palembang at the International Broadcast Center on the 14th floor of the Bank Sumsel Babel building,” Linda added as quoted by Antara.

November Games may add six sport events
Niken Prathivi, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Sat, 08/20/2011 8:00 AM
Indonesian Southeast Asia Games Organizing Committee (INASOC) will likely add six more cycling sports events to the 26th SEA Games, amid wide concern over incomplete venues in co-hosting city Palembang, South Sumatra, with less than three months before it commences.
The possible six events are a women’s team sprint, women’s omnium and women’s cross country event, a men’s 4,000-meter team pursuit, men’s sprint and a men’s omnium event. Currently, the official number of sports events for the biennial multi-sports event is 545 which includes 42 sports.
INASOC chairwoman Rita Subowo said the potential additional sport events were suggested by the Asian Cycling Confederation because the six were categorized as Olympic sports events.
“Approval of the additional sport events will come from the SEA Games Council Federation. As we cannot ratify approval here and now, we will send each of the council members a letter to conduct a postal vote,” Rita, the federation’s chairwoman, told a press conference after a chef de mission’s seminar in Jakarta on Friday.
Commenting on the widely reported concern that Palembang may fail to have the sports venues ready in time, Rita said all head contingents intended to help Indonesia.
“Quoting Singapore’s head contingent, ‘We are here for you’.”
Singapore’s contingent head Abdurahman Hasan has said that Indonesia would hold the best SEA Games to be held thus far. Malaysia’s contingent head Datuk Naim Mohamad said he was no longer concerned that the games would not be ready in time.
“We initially strongly criticized [Indonesia] because we were not informed of the game’s progress.
“But after joining the two-day seminar [in Jakarta], we had no more doubts… We’ve seen the venues and received a presentation on the steps of preparation. I know that we may not have a perfect event, but if we have solid cooperation then no obstacle can hamper us,” said Naim.
In Palembang, games organizer secretary Maryamah Bustam said that an Italian-made pool for the aquatics venue had reached Palembang and was prepared for installation.
“The installation will take at least three weeks to complete. We may have it ready by October,” she added.
