. Now that Hafiz Hashim has made an exit from Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) fold, it has opened up the race for the No.2 Mens Singles spot in the MAS national team. Hafiz Hashim who was with BAM for about three years, had decided to severe ties on with BAM and turn professional. In 2011, Lee Chong Wei remains perched at No.1. Question: Who will be the MAS No.2 Mens Singles player in 2011? Source: http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=76966 .
unless somebody consistently defeats him from now on. i think HH is still no 2. isnt he? he is just not with BAM thats all
It's just like Taufik who is still INA No.1 MS... So I think Habiz is still MAS No.2 MS (as of now)... He boleh?
Hafiz Hashim will continue to be MAS No.2 Mens Singles player in 2011 . I would agree with what was posted by you. To me, Hafiz Hashim will continue to be MAS No.2 Mens Singles player in 2011. .
Not only that no junior can replace Habiz as MAS MS2, but part timer WCH is still MAS MS3....it is not a lack of funding from MAS govt and sponsors, I suppose BAM and coaches should be accountable...just wait till LCW retires, MAS MS cannot even get past the first round
Is Hafiz Hashim still able to play for BAM in MAS team competitions? . It is only BAM who can answer your question. But if BAM is to decide not to include HH, then I would say that MAS No.2 Mens Singles player will be positioned far away from our World's Top 50 MS players. .
Team competition would be Thomas cup, sudirman cup, commonwealth games, Asian games ... Maybe by then he would have been overtaken by the youngsters If not, I really don't know what to say
Currently, MAS don't have top Mens Singles players as good as LCW, HH and WCH . Believe in it or not...... I think BAM would still retain HH and WCH to be included in MAS's teams competition in 2011. Why? Because currently, MAS don't have top Mens Singles players as good as LCW, HH and WCH. .
I read from the press some of them still recovering from injury And hh and wch could possibly be in the team
Let's wait for the outcome from this MAS internal tournament . Let's wait for the outcome from this MAS internal tournament, located at; http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...t-(Feb-18-21)-To-be-held-in-Kuala-Terrengannu .
How about this 13 years old kid, Jun Wei Cheam, who came to LA last December beating up 17 years old kids all in single digits? A lot of people said he is the next LCW. I bet he should blossom in 3 to 4 years.
Please continue to give us more info about Jun Wei Cheam . I would be surprised if a Malaysian could become good when playing in LA, USA. But, please continue to give us more info about Jun Wei Cheam. .
All I know is that a local badminton club invited him to come from Malaysia to play in 10th Anniversary USBDF Winter Junior International Championships held in Orange County. Everyone was thrilled to see him using his footwork and shot placement beating up much stronger 16/17 years old 5/6 inches taller guys. I was hoping some Malaysians can give more info about him. http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...8A4BBE-A7A2-4D9D-87C2-6EA11B7D848C&player=144
Hope that some Malaysian BCers can give us more info about him . Thanks for the info link, Qidong. WOW... For a 13 years old kid to defeat the No.1 U17 seed (Randy Ma) 21-9, 21-12 is such a BIG achievement (I have to agree). Hope that some Malaysian BCers can give us more info about him. .
Maybe the topic should be changed to who will be MAS No.2 in BAM. That way, shortlisting a few players : Blue = Tak Boleh Red = Has potential to be one of the better MAS players Just my opinion... Tan Chun Seang (25 this year) Chong Wei Feng (24 this year) Liew Daren (24 this year) Chan Kwong Beng (23 this year) Mohd Arif Abdul Latif (22 this year) Goh Soon Huat (21 this year)
What about Zulfadli Zulkifli is turning 18 this year? . Hey, you didn't mention Zulfadli Zulkifli, who is turning 18 this year (2011). .
Year 2011? Maybe not yet... I like Zulfadli, but I would prefer him to focus on becoming MAS first ever MS Asian or World Junior champion before undertaking heavier national duties. I did think of him, chris. Thumbs up for him.
For me, I think...... Tan Chun Seang (25 this year) Chong Wei Feng (24 this year) Liew Daren (24 this year) Chan Kwong Beng (23 this year) Mohd Arif Abdul Latif (22 this year) Goh Soon Huat (21 this year)...... Maybe has to add LWS......
