Since my queston wasn't answered in another thread, I'm curious to where this applies since I read it was only meant for isometric racquets to even out the main and crosses however people on oval racquets do this? If anyone can clarify this, it'd be great.
you should know better to do a search first: http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=403&highlight=higher+tension+cross+main http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4061&highlight=higher+tension+cross+main http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7962&highlight=higher+tension+cross+main http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4703&highlight=higher+tension+cross+main
Re: Re: +2 Pounds on the cross strings nahhh, no name calling - just 50 pushups will make him think about it....
Re: Re: Re: +2 Pounds on the cross strings i suggest 50 pushups for each thread i found. so 200 total.
Hmmmmmmm, but how is this an answer to my question? From all those threads above it seems to be more of an isometric thing that's where my question comes in after seeing the +2 pounds on the cross is applied to the oval racquets: http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6104 Am I missing something?
I would also like to know if the +2 difference is necessary with oval racquets or only in isometric racquets.
According to my own experience, I add 2lbs on cross for both oval and iso head rackets. So far, seems they all good. None of them broken, and none of them changing shape or what so ever. Up to now, my friends love my service, they say it's good, and FREE...
hmmm From what I have learned Iso head frmae need 2 Pounds less but oval are able to be strung same tension.....because my cab 21 was strung 22x22 and my cab 20MP was strung 22x24..only difference is that on is more of an egg shape and the other is normal oval shape hope this helps
Re: hmmm Which one is the "egg" shape? Which one is normal? I mean, I strung 2 additional lb on carlton ab600 and yangyang tactic 8500 (both oval), seems they stay with normal oval shape.
http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/sh...sion+cross+main In the above thread, one post presented difference between 2-pt vs 4,6 pt mount machine. I am 100% agree with that. I am using a 2-pt string machine right now. So, I guess the additional 2 lb on cross is necessary for both Iso and Oval rackets.
Well my friend has a BK Racquet and it's oval. He had it for sometime and he strung it at even tensions for both main and cross(Mainly 20-22lbs) and the top is some what deformed. Wouldn't you not get that if you're adding +2 to cross as you as forcing the racquet inwards more? Yodums
If he's using a 2-pt string machine as I do, I assume another 2lb on cross should "save" his racket, buy "squeezing" the vertical direction back to the original (or, at least close) length.
