Before I arrived at Melbourne, I was in Sydney.

If you are aware of Sydney's population, which is over 4 million; Sydney actually needs more clubs/venues for Badminton players.

IMHO, Sydney needs to have twice the number of clubs to be organised (at this moment of time).

By comparison, the San Francisco Bay Area, with a slightly greater population, has about a dozen or more gyms, set up exclusively for badminton, each with from 9 to 27 courts. They are typically open 11am to 11pm, 7 days a week with lunchtime rates of about $5 from 11am to 2pm, evening about $7, 5pm to 101pm. They get enough business to make a profit.

Badminton club established in 2006 (started with less than 10 players), now over 100 members playing in 3 venues over 6 days per week.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:45-10:30 pm: Concord High School, 3 Stanley St, Concord.

Tuesday and Friday 7:45-10:30 pm: Hurstville Boys High, Kenwyn St, Hurstville.
