I am new to this forum, I have started badminton again after a 15 year absence and enjoying it. I have my old Carbonex 20 (from 1988) I would like to restring this racket but I don't know what tension I should use, can someone help me with this. I have attached a collage of the racket, I apologize for the bad photos from the cell phone. Please let me know if there is more information that is required. Thanks, Carlos
i just strung mine at 20/22 bg 66 but mine are newer versions i think from 2003. i have heard some strung them higher but seems to work ok for me. alawys a risk of breaking the racket especially an old one anytime you restring especially above suggested specs. cory
if you are bringing it to a shop they may not want to risk going over 20 either, i would probably just do 19 or 20 at first to see how it plays, and if you think you need higher you might just need to find a new stick. you can get pretty good rackets these days for under 100$. cory
Those old cab20 are very solid. I have seen ppl string them up to 30 before. However those high tension are not advisable unless you can hit very hard. For someone coming back after so long, I sugges around 22-23 pounds.
