I'm visiting Central London and the Glasgow area first 2 weeks of April. I was wondering if there's any "open" gyms in either of those area who would be receptive of a drop by player? Let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

It's an informal club system operating at various locations. As I understand it you drop in and play. You can google for locations and prices as they seem to vary. The only one I have seen is at Whitechapel Sports Centre and they seem to be quite good (at least some of them anyway) if a bit exuberant.
