Hello, I have started a blog on the theme of badminton. More importantly Canadian badminton. Basically It will hopefully end up as a record of myself, from a junior trying to make it, all the way to a National champion/International player. for a blog about your road to badminton stardom, there's very little information on your current level or progress, achievements (past and present), or your short/long term plans and what you're doing to achieve them. just spent some time looking up rankings and tournament results... Seems like a LOT of people have more "passion" than you do
@urameatball: you can have a passion for the game without being a pro at it... Brad is sharing his thoughts, feelings and expressing himself through his blog. He is also giving the world (his view of) some information about how it works for badminton in Canada. I don't think he was trying to project his own importance. He is however, sharing his philosophy. More important, he is making the effort to keep posting these thought-provoking and very interesting atricles. Did you read the latest one on "Learning to Lose" ?
He made his blog with a set of very defined goals... to go from a nobody to national champ, to international circuit. After reading his entire blog (yes, all of it), it feels as if he's coasting on blind hope. Kinda like teenagers fleeing to hollywood in hopes of being the next big thing, only to wait tables for the next 20 years.

Alright man. If that is what you think of me, don't read my blog. If you actually read it you would see that I have only played for 1 and a half years. You want to talk about passion with me man? I moved away from my home town, so I could play full time. I train 6 hours a day, 6 six days a week. I have gone from "Nobody" into somebody. I am not simply "Waiting" for myself to become great. I am making it happen. If you actually searched up my full results you would see that in the past 6 months I have gone from first and second round losses to consistent semi-finals and even tournament wins in provincial tournaments. I have not had a tournament since I started the blog because BC Senior Elite was cancelled. Basically, I don't even really care about your opinion. You are just another person who is doubting me, because of who I am. Do you tell everybody not to go for their dreams because it is not realistic? Have a nice day.
rock on brad! id train full time if i could.. its just that what if i dont become great? then ive lost years of college experience and bachelors degree and most of all, years of my life that i couldve lived doing something else. but i admire you for doing what you love and it seems like youre doing great! pretty amazing youve only been playing for 1.5 years. how old are you btw?
Thank you so much Alapongtai. It is people like you, and your positive remarks, that keep my head up through everything I am challenged with. I am 16 years old, and honestly, I wouldn't mind coaching badminton as a career. I know how bad the hours are, but I believe it is a very rewarding experience for someone like myself. I really just want to be happy in life. I have also thought of attempting to become a professional blogger (Yes you can do that as a job nowadays, but only if you are good) But I don't know. But, unfortunately my parents are not rich, so I may have to go to college or do something to get funds. But, that is the life I have chosen. So thank you for your remarks
